OCRegister is reporting that Odom has had talks about shifting over to the bench, "Odom has discussed with the basketball staff the possibility of accepting a sixth-man role, which has all sorts of delightful possibilities to it, due to the 6-foot-10 Odom’s versatility."

this would be a great move. makes the frontcourt potent at all times.

It wouldn't be too bad. i would still want an odom/pau/bynum starting lineup. that's insane.

this is an example of how deep our team got. in the past years odom the second option by default. now our team has progressed so much that we can bring him off the bench.

It would be okay, but I would want kobe, gasol, odom, bynum in the starting lineup.
That would be a unstopable lineup and team.
But it will still be good if odom goes to the bench.

Having Ariza start at the 3 might be a great option!

Similar to Manu coming off the bench, but getting a majority of the minutes.

As long as when games are close, we end with Bryant, Odom, Gasol, and Bynum (and probably Vujacic), I don't care either way.

With this team we can pretty much do anything.

We play a small team, we can try and overpower them with the big 3.

We play a fast team, maybe we bring Odom, Pau, or Bynum off the bench

We can put out Fisher, Kobe, Ariza, Odom/Pau, and Bynum as a defensive lineup

Are lineups are far from one-dimensional, no need to worry, unless PJ did not learn his lesson that you cant wait too long to make in game changes. Hes probably one of the greatest pregame coaches, but he falls asleep courtside

If he DOES become a 6th man, I hope he wins the 6th man of the year award :omg:

Phil Jackson will decide that though, I'm assuming he'll move Odom to the bench according to who they're playing against and it should be interesting how Odom fits in since Bynum is coming back.

This is what I wanted all along, Lamar at the 3 wont work and he will still get 30+ minutes. Something I would like to see minutes wise on the frontcourt would be:

Ariza(24)/Odom(12)/Radmonovic or Walton(12)
Gasol(20)/Odom(28)
Bynum(34)/Gasol(14)

but then you can always move Kobe to the 3 spot and bring in Sasha, alot of possibilities.

Id rather have him starting. The frontline would probably be one of the tallest in history

Seriously doubt it...

Unless Manu misses the entire season.

LO off the bench only lowers the amount of cash he can ask for in extension...

If LO starts, even if he struggles, if the Lakers win, he wins. The Lakers are notorious for punting and they would not want to shake up a winning combo, even if LO wasn't a major contributor.

That's the route I'd take if I were him...but if I were him, I'd have developed a right by now so...

They still are probably gonna try the "Big 3" front-court^

They kept in minds Odom's versatility and the fact big bynums coming off an injury

+ artest would be a risk.

I was still up for that trade though

I am praying to the basketball gods that this happens. This is what I've been saying for months. Perfect solution, sick rotations.

theres no way he is 6th man willingly. He is due for his last contract as a player. he needs that thing to be filled with a lot of 0's.

Whenever I see threads or news reports with Odom as 6th man, I just can't fathom that happening.

He will start, no matter how inconsistent you may think he is. Plus he's the fourth option now! It's all G
