Fisher's age has increasingly become a factor. At 35 years old, Derek is shooting just 38.7% from the field this season - while opposing point guards often have their biggest nights against the Lakers.

The team still considers Fisher an asset with his understanding of both the team's offensive and defensive concepts - but the numbers don't lie.

Thank you Emplay.

And if the reports of Buss looking to cut costs are true, then Hinrich to the Lakers is dead. The Bulls want expiring this year, and Vujacic doesn't expire until next season. I don't expect the Lakers to make a move at the deadline.

If the Buss family really wants to pass the Celtics in titles like they all say they do a bit more money spent to a have a great chance to win it all won't be a concern for them.

Chicago only needs to drop about $4-5 million, which gives them enough to add Wade this summer.

If they can get away with trading Hinrich for a $5 million expiring contract PLUS Vujacic and possibly Farmar, that still gives them what they need. Chicago is happy, Los Angeles is overjoyed.

i've told myself the only thing that would make me happier than getting hinrich would be getting shaun rogers and/or juilius peppers on the eagles

Thanks emplay.

I believe the Lakers still have a good shot at getting Hinrich but we'll see. As Real Deal pointed out, that is pretty much my only hope of getting him. We'll see soon enough.

I believe the only trade the Lakers would agree to is Vujacic and Morrison FOR Hinrich and Johnson. The impact for the Lakers is obvious, but for the Bulls this is also beneficial. They would have $32,431,339 tied up between Deng, Salmons, Rose, Vujacic, Noah, and Gibson with close to $20,000,000 in salary cap space.

Bynum/Mbenga
Gasol/Odom/Powell
Artest/Walton/Johnson
Bryant/Brown
Fisher/Hinrich/ Farmar

that's not how you calculate cap space - it wouldn't be nearly that high

Kirk!

I agree, and i think he would however he needs the opportunity. I cant believe having sasha for an extra year would stop it on our end. I just dont see him ever spend just to do so. On a guy like kirk I think he would.

Even if they renounce the rights to all their free agents? Wouldn't the only other cap hold be their first round draft pick, plus $1,894,416 for players # 8 throught #11? So, maybe not $20,000,000 but close to $17,000,000.
