We all truly want Kobe to rest some more .

Shoot, rest the entire week.

Imagine if Kobe rested tonight, then Wednesday's game against Utah.
Then the Lakers got the All-Star break and no games until the 16th which is next Tuesday.

That would be like 2 weeks of rest for Mamba.

But knowing this dudes competitive spirit ,
Smart Money is that this guy took off to rest against the Blazers game so he could play against the Spurs tonight.

I know he has a competitive drive, but I really think that he will not play tonight.

Read this on ESPN, Kobe AND AB could be out:

The Los Angeles Lakers could be missing two starters Monday night when they host the San Antonio Spurs.

Kobe Bryant did not participate in the team's shootaround and spent the time undergoing "diagnostic tests" on his sprained left ankle, according to Lakers coach Phil Jackson. Andrew Bynum, who suffered a bruised right hip that caused him to sit out the second half of Los Angeles' win in Portland on Saturday, is probably not going to play, according to Jackson.

"He had some discomfort and can't move very well," Jackson said. Bynum is also dealing with a swollen left knee that he injured last week against the Bobcats when he collided knee-to-knee with Charlotte's Stephen Jackson.

Jackson said Bryant is still a game-time decision as the Lakers await the results of the tests, which included a MRI, on the ankle.

Jackson said the tests were administered on Bryant, "just to make sure."

Bryant told Jackson approximately an hour before tip-off on Saturday that he thought he should sit out and rest the ankle, ending his consecutive games played streak at 235.

When Jackson was asked if he thought the team would benefit from Bryant sitting out the Lakers' two remaining games before the All-Star break, he stressed the importance of L.A. winning as many games as possible to keep pace with Cleveland for home-court advantage in the playoffs.

"We really want to win out," Jackson said. "This situation is perfect for us to keep pushing the accelerator, keep it going. Momentum's really important for us."

Dave McMenamin covers the Lakers for ESPNLosAngeles.com.

so what kind of lineup are we looking at tonight....

pg-Derek Fisher
sg-Shannon Brown
sf-Ron Artest
pf-Lamar Odom
c-Pau Gasol

or maybe....

pg-Derek Fisher
sg-Ron Artest
sf-Lamar Odom
pf-Josh Powell
c-Pau Gasol

my bet would probably be the second one, considering we wouldnt get alot of production from the bench if Shannon started

For some reason, I'm not really worried about this game against the Spurs. I expect Pau, Artest, and LO to step up. Shannon and Farmar played well last game, as well.

L.O. You need ya to step up again man... and Pau has to grow a pair and contain Duncan. Duncan killed us last time from everywhere. We have to play damn good to win, no reason why we can't though. And at least were at Staples!
