I like Andrew and all, but that seems crazy generous to put him that high up on the list after he hasn't played a full season of quality minutes yet.

He has got to become a dominating enough force to help carry Kobe into his late 30's.

The Lakers may truly be on the cusp of something historically special, but we need Andrew Bynum to take the mega-leap in the coming years.

I don't think top 10 is out of the question (as far as centers go). Honestly I couldn't name 9 other centers in the league that are unquestionably better than Bynum.

1) Dwight Howard
2) Yao Ming
3) Andrew Bynum

The Lakers were only 2 games away from winning the whole thing with no Bynum. I don't think Bynum has to set the world on fire to put the Lakers over the top right now and for a bit to come.

Bynum needs to explode this year in my opinion. This year could very well be the start of a new Laker dynasty that could be longer than the 3-peat team(which should've won more).

No excuses, just keep working hard and get to it. I think they should really look to get Bynum the ball down low so he can go to work. The author is right about Gasol and Bynum duo and how it's going to be very productive.

There's really no way Bynum is the 24th best player in the NBA. The truth is, this guy has some of the worst rankings I've ever seen on a blog or a message board.

Yes. I'm really talking about what Bynum will need to be down the road, for the Lakers to still be winning titles. They could possibly win without Bynum at all over the next 3-5 years; but, we've seen that Kobe needs the help of a consistent scorer - as opposed to simply having spot shooters - because when the defense tightens up, guys like Odom and Gasol are not quite as effective.
Bynum can possibly turn into a guy that you can count on for 20+ points, no matter what type of defense is being played. And if he does that, then it takes some of the pressure off of Kobe.

Hopefully, we'll be able to add another wing-scorer over the next few years. We need a go-to scorer, that we can count on against any defense. Right now, outside of Kobe, I'm not convinced we have that - at least not from the wing.
