Once Colt went out, I stopped watching the game because I knew Bama was going to win.

But the Tide just ran all over that Texas defense.

Texas has a really good QB that will step in for Colt next year. Gilbert played fairly well...better than expected. Outside of Shipley though, Texas had no WRs.
But the Tide just ran all over that Texas defense.
To tell you the truth I didn't think Gilbert played well at all. The touchdowns he threw were on broken coverages by Bama. Besides that, the kid could not handle the pressure Bama gave him. Although, he is a true freshman and I can guarantee the kid did not ever think he would have to play in the National Title game in pregame.

All things considered: Him being a Freshman, having to step in for All American Colt McCoy, in the biggest game in college football, against the best defense in the country. He threw two TDs to Shipley to get it to 24-21; He led the Longhorns on a five-play, 59-yard drive to make it 24-13, then 60 yards for the second score and the two point conversion. Yeh, the stat sheet doesn't look good for him, 15/40 for 186 and 4 INTs and a fumble, but it's something to build on for next season.

Very true and thats why I will give him the benefit of the doubt because he is a true freshman.

Good game by Bama, they did what they were suppose to. Just tough how we didn't get to see both teams at 100%.
UT set for another run with Gilbert at QB. He played a heck of alot better than i thought he would. That Bama D a monster.
