News just broke so there aren't many details. I heard that it may have something to do with his health.

I still think his decision has a little to do with Tim Tebow.

I think they just said he'll still be involved with FL in some way just not a head coach. And I don't think Tebow has anything to do with it...Tebow's a senior. Fl doesn't have problems getting commits but depending on who's the next head coach will determine whether or not kids will want to join FL's football program.

Exactly. Tebow was the heart and soul of that Florida team, its going to really hard replacing him. The dude won them 2 national champions.

Yeh, but that's no reason for him to step down.

He has a commitment to many other players on that team and there are many other better PASSING QBs throughout the country...even on FL's current roster. Players move on, they graduate, they go to the NFL...part of the business. With Urban still there, they were loaded with talent.

So that's why something major must be going on with his health.

Its reported to be a heart muscle defect.

All the best to Coach Meyer and his family.

Where did u hear this?

It was on the ESPN ticker.

I dislike Coach Meyer more than anything because I hate Florida. But this issue is more than football.

It was stated that he had been having these chest problems for at least 4 years.

It's just been reported that Meyer will take a leave of absence instead of retiring. The OC will coach the Gators next season.

I now don't feel any sympathy for Meyer.

If he were truely sick, he would be actually be stepping down.

I had to listen about Meyer all damn day when the story broke and its all for not.

This really sucks! He was the BEST coach in College Football. I watched every Utah game he coached when he was here. I'm glad his success continued when he got to Florida. Hope he's okay!
