The Lakers have quite a few players under contract heading intro training camp and it appears as though Ira Newble may have played his final game with the team, according to Orange County Register.

Newble is a free agent as well.

The Lakers' backcourt is crammed with Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Luke Walton and Trevor Ariza, Vladimir Radmanovic, C.J. Giles and Ira Newble.

Ira's a GREAT guy, but they must not see a future in him... especially after the last few signings.

I pretty much figured that months ago. I can't even remember the last game he was in. He really seems like a great and intelligent guy off the court so I wish him well in his next endeavor.

Man that sucks. I wish we could've seen him play in more games as a Laker though.

Is this supposed to be news?

The OC Register must be getting bored with the off-season.

My thoughts exactly.

We'll never know what would have transpired if Phil had played him in the Finals.

I didn't know that Pau played in our backcourt. Guess he's more versatile than I thought.

He's a good guy. I remember watching a video of him doing charity work in Africa.

He's not what our team needs though. We're already stacked in the SF position as it is. Good luck to where ever he goes because I don't expect him to be back.

he's one of the better defensive players on our team, he's worth a roster spot IMO

But there's no use of signing him if he isn't going to be used.

Yes lol. I remember everyone was like "why isn't Phil playing Newble!" like he was gonna have a major impact on the outcome of the games.

like how they wanted to play mebenga? some people think these scrubs are going to change the way the game is played.

I see faith in your eyes
never you hear the discouraging lies
broken is the promise, betrayal
the healing hand held back by deepened nail
follow the god that failed

Ira was great when he was on the court, only problem is that Phil sends him on the court for like 5 minutes a game, and you cant do wonders that amount of time,so i think Phil should give more minutes, try him out!
