Seriously. HOW THE HELL. Does a driver who looks like he could eat 100 fried twinkes and still have room for a few doughnuts win the ATHLETE of the year. Usain bolt in an athlete, he trained for his whole life to run the way he does. Roger Federer, spent his whole life perfecting his game of tennis, hours and hours, upon hours of work put into it. And yet this knucklehead gets the award. Un-believeable.
Jimmie Johnson winning Athlete of the Year is a Travesty.

You aren't far off with this. Today Serena Williams was named the Female Athlete of the Year by the AP, the runner up... a horse. That's a freakin joke, horses aren't athletes, how is horse racing a sport? That's entertainment, that's a show, that's not sports, it's an animal. I mean you're going to tell me a horse is a better athlete than say.. Candace Parker?

If they would have given the award to F1 racing driver, i wouldn't have mind it at all. It takes A LOT to drive a masterpiece like Forumula 1.the car does the majority of the work, might as well give his car athlete of the decade

Im not a nascar fan either, but I can see how driving a car at 200mph with a engine blazing 400 degree heat into the cab where you sit for 400+ miles makes someone athletic. It at the very least would give you a very small body fat percentage.....lol.And if the car does all the work why cant anybody win? Its not a street race. Its 1 multi million dollar machine competeting against another but for some reason certian cars win more (Gordon, Stewart, Johnson). It can only be because the driver is better at his craft or they cheat somehow and the sport allows them to because they bring in the $$$. Like how Jordan could take 6 steps and swicth pivot foots and it was never called a travel.....lol
