Hmm so no trekkies here? I don't think of myself as one, but I do enjoy watching the shows (specifically TNG and Voyager) and the movies. Will definitely watch this one.

Watched it tonight and it was a GREAT film. Probably the best blockbuster this summer (I only see Terminator possibly being better.)

Recommend any and everyone to watch it.

But don't take my word for it, the film is getting great reviews:
rottentomatoes.com: 96%
metacritic.com: 84 / 100
imdb.com: 8.4 / 10
yahoo! movies: critics = B+ :: users = A

Even though I know nothing about Star Trek, this movie looks good. I might see it this weekend.

i loved this movie from start to finish.
so entertaining to watch characters from the past grow up and show the characteristics that everyone knows and love. The comedy in this film is used so well, that smart lines to create enough humor to get a huge laugh from the crowd. Doesnt really matter if you know alot or little about this sci-fi franchise, its very fun.
My favorite character had to be, Scotty. His time when he first shows up in the movie, to the very end, is always enjoyable to watch. Always waiting for the next funny line from him.
Spock, was spot on from the past. His evolution with conflicting vulcan and human traits has such insight to a man who has no emotion. Same thing applies to, CAPTAIN James Tiberius Kirk. To the young punk know it all that starts fight in bars, to the man who takes the responsibility of being captain of the starship Enterprise.

It was nothing but fun to watch this movie. I do want to see it again :)

Dude, Quinto is amazing in this movie...and there's actually a fight scene with him where he has that "i'm going to saw your head open" look to him...I loved it!

Karl Urban stole the show. From mannerisms to speech, it was just like the old Bones.

Well he did from a Star Trek fan's standpoint. He was spot-on with the old Bones. Not saying the others didn't do a good job. Everyone was great. But he put a lot of effort to get his character down.
