It's ok for something free but it's not the whole AVG package.

Just go back to Norton to be safe. It's not that expensive. You can buy another cheap one that works awesomely enough and will last you another full year (360 days).

Whoops, nvm, maybe not. I was gonna' say do so more than anything cuz it USED to be pretty cheap & a steal at Amazon, but now for whatever the reason, the price has just super dramatically gone up. That's too bad. I'm just glad I was able to get it while it was super cheap and a steal. I think I still have 168 days left on my subscription.

I'd suggest this: http://www.microsoft...ity_Essentials/

It's free and takes up very little resources, unlike Norton.

Do NOT use Norton. It's one of the worst Anti-virus / Firewall out there.

i haven't had any problems with the version of norton that i have, it alerts me of any harmful files that i may have and deletes them

that's all i really care about

but on the desktop, we have the free version of avg, i guess it serves its purpose

I second this! I switched to MSE from Avg and have no complaints. its really light on your resources and the scanner is quick.

Yeah the new version of AVG Free isn't nearly as good as it was several years ago. It uses more resources now and slows down computer.

Norton though is even more of a system resource hogger and a lot of times will prevent programs from working. I can't count how many times I couldn't run anything with no pop ups etc. coming up asking me if I wanted to use the program, when I was using Norton. I uninstalled Norton and everything worked perfect.

The only reason why window computers get virus' is because there are more window users than apple users. So the people who write the virus' target a bigger amount of people, rather than the smaller percentage.
