BRANDON HEATH The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent guard Brandon Heath, it was announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
Heath, a 6-3 guard out of San Diego State spent last season playing in France for Entente Orleans 45 where he averaged 12.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25 games.
Most recently, Heath played for the Los Angeles Clippers 2008 Summer-Pro League team in Las Vegas, averaging 5.6 points and 1.0 rebounds in five games played.

Very good PG height and length. Solid jumpshot, even if he is streaky. If he got more consistent 3pt. range and played SG, he'd play a lot like Luther Head, though Heath has considerably more court vision. Surprisingly leaping ability for a PG. Decent lateral. Decent speed. Good 1st and 2nd step when driving but won't always lead straight to the cup for a layup. Can be TO prone at times. NVE-like decision-making... sometimes spectacular passes that are high risk, sometimes turnovers that were low risk passes.
I like the idea of having him invited considering I wanted him out of the draft a few seasons ago. Hopefully playing overseas further refined his PG skills. At the very least he'd be a solid backup PG.
