"Assuming one of them (Yue, Karl and Crawford) makes the team, that brings you to 12 and then we'd probably look for a big player, a front-court player or a young developing player because there might not be that many minutes available for that person."

I haven't seen Crawford and this year's summer league just slipped right by me. I couldn't find any links to see any games. I don't know how Karl is doing now either so I can't decide.

Don't believe everything you hear..My understanding is that Yue is the next Magic. I'll take my chances on the possibility that he'll come close to stacking up with him.

He's labelled a Magic Johnson type player. Meaning, he is physically big and can handle the ball. It doesn't mean he will turn out to be anywhere near as good as him.

Yue. Karl had a shot last year. Will never be anything more than a scrub. Lets see if Yue can develop into anything. Also, gives someone to push Farmar. He needs a swift kick in the you know where.
If I may add, Karl is also older than the both of them. This means he has less room for improvement.

Crawford looks good. Very aggressive and athletic. Really attacks the rim and does a good job all over the court. He's raw though.

And, maybe we should see Yue in the Olympics before we declare him the next anything.

Am sure for Karl making the roster, it all depend on how he does in pre-season. These Summer League and D-Fender stats don't mean crap to Phil Jackson.Don't assume it is just one of the two. The reporter says that the Lakers have 11 under contract (true) but only want to carry 13. Last year they carried 14 and, unless you think the Lakers will never have more than one injured player at a time it makes little sense to have just one guy over the number that dress nightly. My guess, Karl (who looked much improved in summer league), a yet-to-be-named backup big, and probably Crawford (spending most of the season with the D-Fenders).
