Lookin' forward to this, hope they improve the memory greatly as well as the battery life damn it, especially when playing videos & stuff... :)

currently have the old 30gb video & photo ipod.. will be getting a new one soon.. but not sure if i want the internet thing cuz of many many reports that it's slow as heck and in most places the connection is bad...

might just get a big memory 80gb original/classic music ipod and is all mostly..

i need memory for more music more than anything right now.. my 30 gb has been full for too long now.. i'm aching to put more already.. but don't wanna have to erase..

more info on the new nano:

The rumors were true on this one, too -- there's a new iPod nano in town, and it's sporting that long, thin, somewhat rounded design that we've seen early on. There's a new widescreen that can be turned horizontally (thanks to a new built-in accelerometer, you can also "shake to shuffle"), and in that mode, it offers a Coverflow-style interface. Features like a stopwatch and even a Voice Recorder (with mic, presumably purchased separately) are available, and the battery life has been slightly updated: you can have 24 hours of music, or four hours of video.

The new models are available in blue, purple, orange, green, or pink, and the 8gb version is available right now at Apple stores for $149, with the 16gb version available for $199 as soon as next week. Headphones are sold separately for $29 next month, with an in-ear version available for $79, and both, we're told, include the clicker from the iPhone, where there's a small button you can click or double click to skip songs.


Accelerometer? Nice. A built-in mic would've been sweet. $199 for 16gb of flash memory is a good deal. Wish video battery life was longer...a lot longer. 8 hours would be nice.

Also there's a "new" ipod touch. basically the new 3g iphone, minus the phone part. 30 hours of audio. 6 hours of video. I want it :clap: . Might sell my old one and get the new one. Anyone want a 1G 8gb jail-broken ipod touch for $180?

Ugly? It's the same basic design with a widescreen upgrade and accelerometer. Sounds good to me. Although I'd probably go with this (http://us.creative.c...p;product=17811) instead. FM radio, built-in mic, expandable memory (sd and sdhc), more audio and video codec compatibility, better battery life, speaker, larger screen...all for the same price.

Sucks for you. I think a rule of thumb should be that if you didn't get the iPod within the first 6-8 months of release, you're better off just waiting for the next gen.
