I just watched the Italian film Life Is Beautiful once again. It gets me everytime. While the film is light hearted and family oriented, I take from it a larger philosophical message. Life is just as much about what you make of it than what life makes of you. If this were true, it truly makes individualism a very powerful concept, much less one's attitude toward how they perceive and live their life. You may very well be in a grim situation. Does that mean you need to feel sad about it and let the grim reality dictate your behavior? You can let social forces dictate behavior, or you can overcome any factor by making an individual choice to perceive and live your life at a different level. Best illustrated, if you live a life of love and happiness through the events of sadness and difficulty, which is the greater outcome?

If Life Is Beautiful

And If life is what you make of it

Then the individual is as beautiful as they perceive their life to be

You are lucky. I think Tennant is the best Doctor of the 2005 series.

If I had to choose, I'd say season 4 is the best one.

There's gold and it's haunting and haunting; it's luring me on as of old; Yet it isn't the gold that I'm wanting So much as just finding the gold; It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder, It's the forest where silence has lease; It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder, It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Lucky?

And ya, Christopher Eccleston was decent. I actually thought he was funny. But comparing him to David Tennant... Tennant shows a lot more personality playing the Doctor.

I may be home rather late tonight where I'd knock out right away, so tomorrow will just be a Dr. Who marathon day for me  :pulpdance:

^ I meant lucky because you can watch the whole season without having to wait a week for the next episode.

Which episode did you like the most so far? I think "Dalek" and "The Empty Child" are fantastic!

Oh ya, definitely lol :P

"The Empty Child" was probably the best episode I've seen by far. It was stinkin' good. I liked "Father's Day" as well -- I cried, to be honest. That was a really depressing one lol.

"Tooth & Claw" wasn't bad -- that was the episode I was watching last night.

You ever watched the original Dr. Who?

Yeah, I watched some of the Fourth (Tom Baker) episodes:

Genesis of the Daleks

The Brain of Morbius

The Deadly Assassin

They are pretty old (1975-76) but really enjoyable, even without the outstanding special effects used nowadays.

And in all likelihood, Baker is the most iconic Doctah!

We need a Doctor Who thread

Agreed.
