It's sad to see how low the standards for good music have gone, but the worst of the worst has to be Lil Wayne. I ride the school bus to and from school around 90% of the time, and all the FM radio stations that my bus driver happens to turn on play music from Lil Wayne. To be honest, I had no clue who this guy was until I heard "Lollipop" on the radio.

When I heard the song a while back while riding on the bus, I had no clue what he was saying over the course of the song except the word Lollipop. Curious, I decided to go to my computer and check out what the lyrics to the song were. Imagine my surprise when I read the lyrics of "The best rapper alive" (Whoever thinks this is either an idiot or delusional):

Just a part of the song "Lollipop" because the whole song is just too painful...

She she lick me
Like a lollipop (Yeah)
She she lick me
Like a lollipop (Yeah)
She she lick
Like a lollipop (Yeah)
She she lick
Me Like a lollipop

Wow, that was horrible. The song has no point, is trashy, and I still couldn't see why he was considered the best current rapper by many people. I decide to give the guy another chance and look for another song of his, and I happened upon "A Milli" which, needless to say, was equally as impressive as "Lollipop" :lolabove:

Weezy... F... yea, ok
They say I'm rappin like Big, Jay, and Tupac
Andre 3 Thousand where is erykah badu at
Who dat
Who dat said they gon' beat Lil Wayne
My name ain't bic, but I keep that flame boi
Who dat one
Dat do dat boy
Y'all knew dat
True dat swallow
And I be the shhhh
Now you got loose bowels
I don't owe you like two vowels
But I'd like for you to pay me by the hour
Hahaha
And I'd rather be pushing flowers,
Than to be in the penn sharing showers
See Tony told us this world was ours
And the Bible told us every girl was sour
Don't play in the garden and don't smell her flower
Call me Mr. Carter or Mr. Lawrence Mower
Boy I got so many [expletive]es like I'm Michael Lowry
Even Gwen Stefani said she couldn't doubt me

Can anyone tell me what the hell Wayne was rapping about?

This guy is trash, he's Soulja Boy with a slightly better understanding of the English language. How is this idiot considered one of the best rappers in our current times? Not to mention his voice...ugh...how can anyone listen to that [expletive]?

Whatever happened to meaningful rap like Tupac or A Tribe Called Quest? Gawd, in addition to posting crappy lyrics and having a voice that sounds like [expletive], he's also really ugly:

It's obvious that I despise this idiot, but, what's your opinion on him? :lolabove:

Exactly. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but even I know the difference between trash and quality rap. What baffles me is how people can actually stand to listen to this guy...

I used to have no opinion on him really until he had Lollipop released and that was all I heard on the radio. Then I got annoyed by him. :lolabove:

Yeah, lyrically he sucks, but he's famous for the style he brings. his voice is unlike anyone else. that combines with the way he emphasizes certain syllables has set him apart from others.

secondly, your bus driver could probably get fired for playing Lollipop.

people like soulja boy and hurricane chris are on a completely different level of suck.

Around the early 2000's it fell off with all that ''Bling Bling'' garbage.

Considering it's an FM station playing on the radio, I don't think he'd be at fault. What style? He has no flow, his lyrics suck, and he does not rap about anything meaningful at all. Emphasizing syllables? How can something so simple set him apart from the others and make him "the best rapper alive" in the minds of todays youth?

I can't stand Lil Wayne. At all.

You're crusading on a matter of your opinion. I've listened through Carter III a few times, and I have to say, Wayne can flow. I don't know how to explain the way he does what he does... mainly because I'm not a huge fan.

You really do have a problem with him getting this billing of "the best rapper alive." I don't know where you're hearing that... he may be touted as the best hip hop artist currently, but, still, i don't think it's his raps that make him famous.

If you listen to his hook in 'My Life' on The Game's new album, you can kind of see why people like him... he's just different. He doesn't sound like every other rapper out there.

Alright, excuse me for making the mistake between "best rapper alive" and "best hip-hop artist alive", but the truth of the matter is that he is neither. Sure, he may have some "flow", but even a monkey can rhyme "flower" with "showers", or "bowels" with "vowels". Where's the meaning to his lyrics?

The few times I've actually bothered to read the lyrics of his songs, I've found no depth or meaning to them at all. "Lollipop", "A Milli", what the [expletive] is the point of these songs? I'm fascinated at how someone who writes with such simplicity can be considered one of the elite amongst his peers.

I'm probably just a hater, but I don't see any one reason to like this guys songs.
