I've got the opportunity to sell my 360 for a PS3. Should I do it?

like i said it was from a site that counted games that were out or are for sure coming out in 08
heres the quote from the ign article regarding GT5

There's no plans in the works for GT5 yet - that might be 2009, or it might be 2010 ... But we're totally focused on getting the updates through for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and that's all we're focused on.

I'd have to say stick with the 360. I purchased a PS3 a while back and I only got 2 games for it. I can't get my PS3 to update to the newer versions, the download gets half way through and then stops, so I basically spent 400 bucks for a system just to play a baseball game. As of right now I regret making that puchase. I really could have use that 400 bucks to go towards my credit card right now. I also find myself purchasing the games for the 360 more and more. I don't know why. I do still want to buy Metal Gear 4 as that is a great game. Then I will only have 3 games for my PS3 which I would still consider a waste of money. Sony better start getting some good exclusive games for there system. I can't wait for Killzone 2.

... Sorry I rambled on. In short, stay with the 360.

Yea, because updating problems have been affecting all PS3s and hey, the 360 NEVER has any glitches/errors. Those Red Rings are lies...

By the way, that was sarcasm... ;)

Sarcasm or not, the PS3 does have updating problems. Mine has trouble with it as well. I have 2 360's and neither has ever experienced the RROD. BUT, I know about 16% (which is ridiculously unacceptable) have experienced it.

Right now, my personal opinion is the 360 has the better games. Halo 3, Gears and Mass Effect are worth having a 360 for.

But in the end, I don't see why Darth Bynumite doesn't pick up a few extra shifts at his job or maybe get a temporary part time job at another place and buy a PS3 and keep the 360. I have both (and the Wii) and I have a semi powerful PC. That way I don't have to worry about what comes out on what.

Because I will NEVER play 2 systems. It will be one or the other, I see no point in having both. I spent the day on my 360 today and played some of the exclusives I love (Mass Effect, Halo 3) and it's made me question myself again.

You may never play 2 systems at the same time, but if you love the exclusives for 360, saving up and buying a PS3 wouldn't be for just the games. The PS3 is a good quality blu-ray player that costs the same as low end stand alones. Seeing as eventually you will probably buy a blu-ray player, it only makes sense to buy one that you can play Metal Gear Solid 4 on. :nervous: Honestly, the main reason (as in 80%) I bought a PS3 was I wanted a blu ray player for my HDTV. The games and internet browser are just a bonus.

I've really only heard about one updating problem thus far. That was with the trophies update which apparently bricked some PS3s. Have there been others? Because one incident can't be talked about as if it were prevalent in all PS3s and if I recall, they fixed it pretty quickly...

360 does have some good exclusives, I'm not gonna lie. Gears was one of the best games I've played, but honestly, I'd take MGS4 over any of those games you mentioned above.

Well, mine has only had the one issue, but for whatever reason, it won't update using a wireless connection which is a real pain for me. It isn't a signal issue because I have other wireless things (laptops) roaming my home. Another issue I have with the PS3 is it spontaneously turns itself on. I can't tell you how many times I've come home to have it acting as a space heater in my entertainment console.

I'm not trying to bash the PS3 by ANY stretch. I'm very happy with it. But both systems have had their share of problems. And my PERSONAL opinion is the 360 has better games at the moment. But from everything I've read, the 360 is pretty much being tapped out as it relates to power by the game developers. The PS3 still has quite a bit of growing room.
