I've got the opportunity to sell my 360 for a PS3. Should I do it?

Basically, I'm mostly an offline player, but I will play something like Halo online. However, if the end of online games came tommorow, it would not effect me one bit.
The 3 exclusives I loved on the 360 were Mass Effect, Test Drive Unlimited and Halo. I also like Forza but GT5 will be 3 times the game of it. There's also MGS4 which looks like a very good game.
I usually pop in a DVD on my 360 to help me fall asleep. So yes, I would fully use the PS3's movie abilities.
Plus, ALL my friends have PS3's. I wouldn't buy something because of what my friends have, but if I can play together with them, it's an added bonus.
Is it true that Blue Ray will be finished in 4-5 years though?
Anyway, more advice on what to do would be much appreciated.
By the way, the PS3 is region free right? Meaning I can buy games in the US, and play them in the UK?

I personally like the 360 better, but if you're a predominantly offline player AND most your friends are PS3ers, it should be a no brainer. Go with the PS3. Offline its as good, if not better than the 360 and the added bonus of the Blu Ray player puts it over the top.

i've been a X-Box user since 2002, but to be completely honest, the PS3 seems like it has more promise then the 360 to me.

yeah. blu ray is the de facto HD disk now, no worries there.

The Xbox had more promise than the ps2, and that didn't work out so well. The PSP had wayyy more promise than the DS, that didn't work out so well. The PS3 has more promise than the 360, but so far, that isn't working out. I've made the mistake of buying those systems with more upside 3 times, so now I just draft for software.

Alone in the dark for the ps3 is a prime example. on 360 its kinda crappy. But when it hits ps3 later, they have given it a full blown make over and changed everything people didnt like about it. even are giving it a new graphical make over.
I got the ps3 for free online, and bluray. I have a 360 too. i love both, but ps3 is ready for 10 years.
I see faith in your eyes
never you hear the discouraging lies
broken is the promise, betrayal
the healing hand held back by deepened nail
follow the god that failed

Where did you get that list? It's lacking for the PS3 at least...
You forgot Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII Versus, God of War III, Gran Turismo 5 (not prologue), Tekken 6, and some more I don't feel like looking up.
I usually pop in a DVD on my 360 to help me fall asleep. So yes, I would fully use the PS3's movie abilities.
Well, as a PS3 owner I have some bad news. There is no sleep function so your PS3 will be on all night
As for the Blu-ray thing, I honestly don't think it will fail just because of the pure size of games coming out now. If you look at it, one of the main reasons Metal Gear Solid 4 (best game on PS3) didn't come out for the 360 was the pure size of the game. MGS4 took up an entire 50 gig single-layered Blu-Ray disc (the game was about 48 gigs), the game is massive.
If you were to have it on the 360 you would have 6 DVDs, that's a 6:1 DVD to Blu-ray ratio. Imagine a year or two from now, would you want to be playing a game with 12-15 DVDs that you would have to constantly be switching out?
However, Blu-ray with PS3 is kind of useless without an HDTV with at least 720p definition. If you do, it's all good then and plus, a nice feature with the PS3 is upconverting your DVDs so that they play at a higher definition as well.
I'm totally unbiased

i added in ninja blade but just now i realize its coming out in 09
if it was 09 it would look different seeing as how sony announces like everything well before theyre close to releasing where as MS tends announces stuff when its actually coming out that year

Gran Turismo 5 and Tekken 6 are coming out in 2008. Plus, it's already August. In three months it will be 2009. Games coming out in 2009 aren't as far away as you make them seem. Especially considering Killzone is coming out in February and Final Fantasy XIII should come out early 2009. The only reason FFXIII is coming out in 2009 is because of the slow port to the 360 anyways...
yeah let me quote u on GT5 coming out in 08
o wait
http://www.shacknews...article.x/53798The fifth full-fledged entry in Polyphony Digital's racing simulation series Gran Turismo may not hit PlayStation 3 until 2009 or 2010, according to studio founder Kazunori Yamauchi.
tekken 6 has been completely off the radar and highly doubt its coming out in 08
FFXIII is coming out in japan in 09 then once its done theyre gonna start work on the ps3 translation and 360 port

About that yea it sure wouldn't fit on one disc on the 360 but it wouldn't take 6 discs. On the PS3 they get to save time and money by not compressing anything as much as they'd have to for the 360.As for the Blu-ray thing, I honestly don't think it will fail just because of the pure size of games coming out now. If you look at it, one of the main reasons Metal Gear Solid 4 (best game on PS3) didn't come out for the 360 was the pure size of the game. MGS4 took up an entire 50 gig single-layered Blu-Ray disc (the game was about 48 gigs), the game is massive.
360 fanboys who say the added space on the disc doesn't matter are stupid though, it's not like it's hurting anything. But it's not helping as much as some Sony fanboys say either though.

KEY WORD: May
May does not mean will.
This is where I got 2008 from, notice that it says TBA 2008. Plus, it's a very well known game site, not some random site that is relatively unknown.
FFXIII is close to done. The only reason why it's being held back is because of the 360 port.
This is a quote from this Gamespot article:
In the video, director Motomu Toriyama didn't beat around the bush when Nomura asked him questions about the 360 FFXIII. Starting off, he reconfirmed that, "We haven't changed the direction of the development. We're making the PS3 version first, and then porting to the 360 later." That means that since the game will be released simultaneously on both platforms in North America and Europe, the PS3 release will be held back in those territories until the 360 version is complete.
Hell, even if all these games are coming out in 2009, why can't you mention them as upcoming exclusives? 2009 is only 3 months away...

since when did are mean may?
btw ur kidding me if u believe TBA 2008 means a game is coming out in 08
and the only reason i didnt mention 09 games was that i got the list from another site that only counted games coming out in 08
btw if u want a more mainstream site for the GT not coming in 08

I'm not going to continue arguing over game release dates, it's pointless. My whole point was that you're list didn't include some games whether or not they come out in 2008 or 2009.
