RealGM.com:

Warriors guard Monta Ellis has admitted that he lied about how he injured his left ankle, according to Contra Costa Times.

Golden State now knows that Ellis' ankle injury, which was repaired during surgery on Aug. 27, was not sustained "in a gym," and "it happened out doors and not while playing basketball."

The source did not reveal what Ellis told management he was doing when he got hurt, only that he "was scared to tell the truth at first."

Wonder how he got injured

They should just tell the truth when stuff like this happens.

its because many bad things can happen if they get hurt doing things they are not allowed to do......fines,contracts changed, money they already spent has to go back to the team.

I see why they lie, but they shouldnt lie. should just come clean, because when the real story hits, it makes them look worse.

If he's going to admit he lied, why not just say how? It's like either you tell the whole truth or not. You can't go halfway then stop.

Ellis probably told the management how. The source that got this information was only told that Monta lied about how he injured his ankle, nothing more.

Oh I see. I wonder if he'll get punished like Radman did.

That's definitely true but lying could only worsen the situation.
