He hasn't done anything since Chappelle's Show and Block Party, no movies. I'm guessing he's mostly just doing stand-up, which is probably what he enjoys most, and he has enough money to not have to really do anything else if he doesn't want to. I think the fame thing really got to him, he has not been out there ever since he quit his show and the whole Africa thing.

from wiki (http://en.wikipedia..../Dave_Chappelle):

In a June 2004 stand-up performance in Sacramento, California, Chappelle walked off the stage after berating his audience for constantly shouting "I'm Rick James, [expletive]!," which became a catchphrase from the popular ""Rick James" sketch .

After a few minutes, Chappelle returned and continued by saying "The show is ruining my life." He stated that he disliked working "20 hours a day" and that the popularity of the show was making it difficult for him to continue his stand-up career which was "the most important thing" to him.

He also told the audience: "You know why my show is good? Because the network officials say you're not smart enough to get what I'm doing, and every day I fight for you. I tell them how smart you are. Turns out, I was wrong. You people are stupid."

I do imagine people yelling 'I'm Rick James *****' at you wherever you go would get annoying. In one of his stand up shows he did even make the joke about how somebody was yelling that to him at Disney World when he was with his kid. I think he did the right thing myself, he left us with a great 2 seasons of his show and he got out before it got old and consumed him.

He did something in Portland just last week. I think he basically just had a microphone and an amp with him, went to some popular night spot in Portland, and just started ad-libbing. I don't know if it spread by word-of-mouth or maybe through the internet, but apparently there were thousands who showed up to watch and eventually the police shut him down. He said he did it to check how popular he still was (he didn't think he was still popular hence the reason why he only had a mic and a small amp). There should be videos all over the web.

Dave really pissed me off when he up and quit.
I remember waiting for season 3 to drop the anticipation, then nothing. Dave went to Africa to get away he comes back, still nothing. I remember watching him on Oprah looking for a glimmer of hope he'd comeback and do something substantial.

Dave has become nothing more than a tease. I figured we'd see Dave again(when his money started to thin).

If he has some beef with Comedy Central that's fine, take a project(doesn't have to be the Chappelle Show) to another network. HBO or Showtime would be my choices. Just do something Dave. Stand up is OK, but IMO gets old real quick. Chappelle Show was great because each show was like a stand up routine with skits mixed in. Each episode was different, fresh.

Surprised no one has mentioned Dave spoofing Lil' John. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAH!

BTW there are vids of the Portland thing on YouTube, but they suck.
