Yeah and I think that he had a reception over 50 yards so that ties him with Devin Hester.

Confidence, you an Eagles fan?

Anyway, nah man it was a 19 yarder. But he now went over the 1,000 yard plateau! Right now he is at 56 REC, 1,087 YDS, 8 TDs

Eagles fans, where you at???

I'm usually over at YB when I talk Eagle football, but I guess I'll chime in a bit on my thoughts this offseason.

Top Priority: Re-sign the best FB in the league. We really need this guy now, since we need backfield help to fill in for Westy's departure.

Re-sign: Weaver, Avant, and Gaither.

Let go: Nick Cole, Chris Gocong, Ellis Hobbs, Max Jean-Gilles, Alex Smith, Reggie Brown (trade), Kevin Curtis (trade)

Biggest upgraded needed: DE. We need a solid pass rusher. Jaqua Parker is good, but we can be better. Peppers brings veteran leadership, and major talent. He commands a double team, leaving Trent Cole alone to hunt down QBs. Man what a rush thinking about that.

Draft need: A FS. Ive said time and time again over at YB, that despite the draft being loaded with DEs, I feel we should sign Peppers, and draft a FS. Because IMO, its easier for a rookie to blossom earlier in the FS position, than at the DE spot. I feel we need a player who brings immediate impact as soon as he arrives. Peppers, is that guy, not a rookie. Sean Jones, had a really good year, and that's coming off as a late season starter. Macho was just horrible. I don't know what Reid was thinking, starting Macho at FS.

Key to 2010 success: Health. This season, injuries cost us a SB, IMO. We didn't try out our much anticipated O-Line, Bradley was gone for the season causing us a big hole at LB all year long, Shawn Andrews was also out.... just a very unhealthy season for the birds. The loss of JJ didn't help either. If we stay healthy, keep DMac, and upgrade defensively, I'm calling a SB win. You heard it here first.

During the combine drills today they talked of a rumor of McNabb to the Rams.

Only a rumor. :hmm:

Not happening.

Personally, the only scenario in which I picture DMac being traded, is if we get an offer we can't refuse. Kolb is good, but still needs to be seasoned.

You can only get so much seasoning on the bench.

I don't think McNabb will be traded either. As long as Reid is in town I see DM as an Eagle.

Yeah, but Id rather have him on the bench, seeing studying McNabb going to work, than him learning it the hard way on the field, costing us turnovers right?

I cant wait till FA begins!

Is this going to be Kolb's 3rd or 4th season?

Eagles may end up trading him. What about Vick?

What if they rolled with Kolb and Vick?

I don't really see the Eagles much worse (if at all) with 1 of those 2 under center.

The 2 QBs that are likely staying, are DMac, and Kolb. Eagles would be foolish to keep Vick... he's nothing but a down waster.

Eagles cut Will Witherspoon.

I cant even believe this FO, how cheap and dumb they are.

Maybe a move at LB is coming. The Jets shortly acquired Cromartie, after they released Lito. One never knows, but I am extremely unhappy with this. What a way to waste Brandon Gibson. Even if they are making a move, why cut Will? Acquiring the other LB, and keeping Will only adds depth. I see no positives in this whole situation.. such bull ****

Eagles Sign Marlin Jackson
http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/16219/20100310/eagles_sign_marlin_jackson/

Jackson Will Play Free Safety For Eagles

Posted Image

General manager Howie Roseman confirmed the reports that the Eagles' new addition, Marlin Jackson, will compete with Macho Harris and Quintin Demps for the starting free safety spot in 2010. The Eagles and Jackson agreed to terms on a two-year deal on Wednesday.

"We are going to start him out at free safety," Roseman said. "He has the versatility to play nickel and line up in the slot. He has some size. He's a versatile guy and he's a good football player, so we're going to get him healthy, get him right and then we'll go from there."

Even though Jackson played in primarily a Cover-2 scheme in Indianapolis in his first five years in the league, Roseman thinks that Jackson has all of the tools to make the transition to the Eagles' defense.

"He's a tough, smart football player. He's won a lot of football games. He's instinctive. He's quick," Roseman said. "We think this is a great opportunity to get not only a player who can help us on defense, but a great person too and a leader on defense. We are excited about this move."

There is the concern that Jackson is coming off of an ACL injury for the second year in a row, although it's a different knee. Roseman is "confident" in the reports he received from the team's medical staff and decided to move forward with acquiring the former first-round draft pick.

"I think we're really confident that he's in the right hands here," Roseman said. "It was a risk worth taking for us with the person and player he can be for us."

While Roseman is understanding that there are fans who wished that the team made a splashy move early in the free agent process, he wants to remind everyone that the off-season is far from over.

"Everyday we're trying. There's a lot of balls in the air and it's a long off-season," Roseman said. "It's a great draft class that we have so we're still focusing on that, but I can say that everyday we're trying to improve this football team."

Could Eagles Pursue Ray Edwards?

Posted Image

Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports it won’t be surprising if the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints or the Philadelphia Eagles make an offer to Vikings pass rusher Ray Edwards, a restricted free agent.

The Vikings have tendered Edwards at a relatively low $2.512 million. The Vikings would have seven days to match offers by other teams, or would accept the signing team’s first-round draft pick this year. In the case of the Saints, that would be the No. 32 overall pick. The Eagles have the No. 24 overall pick.

Any Eagle fans here? Anyway, great moves yesterday.

Signed Bell to our offer sheet (Saints unlikely to match)
Traded Clemons, and a 4th rounder for Darryl Tapp, who is expected to compete for the LDE starting gig.

Today, the birds released Shawn Andrews, and I woke up really pissed off. But Reid wouldn't have cut him if he was still a pro bowl type player. My guess is that his back injury is not improving at all, and its not looking good for the future. Best of luck to him.

Sean Jones signed with the Bucs. Jason Babin, was signed to the Titans offer sheet today.

#Eagles release Darren Howard AND Kevin Curtis.

Curtis, I understand. But Howard? I must say that the Eagles are definitely taking advantage of the uncapped year.
