the problem with watching the 4 seasons straight is that now, when season 5 starts, it'll be hard because i'll actually have to wait a week in between episodes...ahhhhhhh

Late reply but I'm feeling this exact way right now. I just watched the entire series from start to finish in the span of a week. Now I have to wait over a month for Season 5 to start and then weeks in between each episode!

The ending to Season 4 would've been a lot more crazy if I didn't have it spoiled for me ahead of time. But since it happened so suddenly during the episode, I was hoping that somehow it didn't really happen. I'm kinda disappointed in seeing that it really did happen in the trailer for Season 5. Does anyone know if Season 5 is going to be the Series Finale because there's no way I can see it going on for more seasons.

yea, i watched the entire series over the course of a month or so...(damn job and gf getting in the way...hehe) the show's probably just really reaching the height of its popularity...i doubt this will be the series finale.

they have great writers, so i'm sure they'll figure out a way to keep it interesting, and keep it going

I guess the writers could find a way to extend the series but IMO it will feel forced. Honestly, after watching the trailer for Season 5, it will be pretty disappointing if Dexter somehow unrealistically avoids all the trouble headed his way.

honestly, when the show first introduced Rita I kept hoping she would be a temporary character who would later be written off but then they got married and i was like "oh crap, i gotta deal with her character now". but i still like watching the show so i dealt with her. but now that i know she actually died i don't know if im glad that she's actually gone from the show or sad for dexter's character.

I finished season 3 a couple of weeks ago and is it just me or was that the weakest season? The first half was pretty stagnant. It did pick up during the second half of the season but it didn't really live up to the previous 2 seasons. I'm not dissing it in anyway I still enjoyed it but it was def. the weakest IMO.
I have season 4 coming in tomorrow and i've heard nothing but great things, so really looking forward to watching that and hopefully catching up before season 5 rolls around.

His story line was important in Dexter's development(moving away from Harry code, becoming a family man). Dexter's vulnerability always leads him to violence. In all the season Dexter opens himself up. Even if he isn't caught Dex always has a price to pay.

I agree with everything you said. Those were the main complaints I had about season 3. And the Miguel story line was def the strong point of the season.

I agree. I didn't like S3 so much, and I was almost bored of it. S4 is my favorite thus far, though it's arguable between S4 and S1, and only because S1 is the obvious reason for getting addicted to Dexter. The Trinity Killer....my favorite. Lithgow is amazing.

Rita's death broke my heart. I love Mitchell's character only because of how psychotic his [expletive][expletive] self is. But fakkkkk. I wanted to hate him so much at the end of S4, and he deserved dying...even though I love him. PS-Harrison is so cute.

Premiere was awkward feeling. The funeral(had me thinking back to Six Feet Under). The conversation with the kids WTF? WOW. Way to let them down 'softly' mickey.

Kinda feel it's a turning point for the series.
Doesn't Dex have to get caught sooner or later?

That freak out(scream/cry) when Harry showed up was EPIC.
