Jeter is one of my favorite players, but he isn't going to win it. Right now my choice is Joe Mauer.
his numbers are amazing. true. he was actually hitting over .400 for a large portion of the season, but the twins are 1 game over .500, and they've been under .500 by a lot at times this year. so i don't know.

I would agree with you about the Twins hurting Mauer's chances but the MVP doesn't always go to a player on a good team.
2003, Alex Rodriguez wins the award, his Rangers finish 20 games below .500 going 71-91.
I think the race will be between both DJ2 and Mauer, I like both players. They play the game right and you don't hear them acting like idiots off the field.
