I usually like to act like a spy, and turn this on for every board i visit,but i cant seem to find it....any help or is it not an option?

Real Deal disable the option last month.

What's the point of being hidden when people already know you're online? :lol:

because it doesnt tell people what im reading or what im doing. only mods and admins will see where im at, but not guests.....i dont need to get 10 IMs from people asking if i would like to join their message board.

Only admins, actually (with IPB at least).

I turned it off mainly because of the problems we were having with members snooping around where they shoudn't be (registering just to see our off-topic forum and get info out of that, such as AIM addys), because of members from other sites who were comnig here to stir up trouble a bit, and that gave the moderators the ability to see everyone at all times, as well as our dedicated members, who would PM the staff.

If anyone is sending you invites to their board through the PM system, just send them my way so I can suspend them for seven days. That's spamming.

I have no problem with this at all whatsoever. In fact, I love it this way. Not only because of the positives it provides for tracking down possibly anyone who's just here for wrongdoing, but because at times when activity is not so active, you can still at least tell what people are viewing most & what not & tell what those damn lurkers are doing, haha.
