Just wondering what kinda TV everyone owns.

I currently own: Sony KDL-40XBR3 40" BRAVIA 1080p HDTV LCD, that I bought a couple of years ago.

Looking to buy a new one either sometime this year or next. The new LED TVs are looking nice.

5 high def sources in my house...the ones i own are a 51'' sony 1080i (pretty old) in the living room, and a 23'' 720p that doubles as TV in my room and one of my computer monitors.

I own a Sony Bravia KDL-40S3000 40" 720p LCD TV , love the thing, best tv I've ever had. At the time I bought it the price difference between 1080p and 720p tv's was a bit much for me and I read that you didn't really need it that much if the tv was 40" and under. Newer tv's probably look better these days, but for me ignorance is bliss, this thing looks incredible, especially with Blu-Rays. Originally I tried a cheap brand and it just wasn't worth it, then a Sharp but it wasn't quite good enough and finally I got the Bravia, which was what I wanted all along I just had to save up for a while. I think it was so worth it to go with Sony, I never have complaints with the tv, whereas with the others I always had this nagging feeling I could be seeing better picture with a Bravia. and oh yeah I have a pic of me watching some golf on it.

I'm debating on my next TV if I should go Plasma or LCD. I have LCD atm but black levels do bug me. I know Plasma is great with black levels, but the whole burning it in bugs me as well.

I think Vizio tvs look good, and the price is the best part. I read yesterday that they're still the top LCD TV's sold, so they must be doing something right, even the cheap price won't matter if the product is crap.

My brother has a 42" Vizio LCD he got 2 years ago, he still loves it. We've have good experiences. I'm not saying it's the best, but you could do a lot worse.

LED TV's are going to take over(when the price comes down). The color is really really nice, it probably pulls a lot less power which is another good thing.

In my tool shed I have a 13inch B&W Quasar with aluminum foil wrapped around a pencil as an antenna.

Not gonna buy a converter box for it though................ then again???

Plasma = overrated (no offense to anyone if you have one).

Reason I like Plasma is because of the black levels. They do make a big difference.

I honestly don't even know what black levels mean, I always hear that and read that when looking at reviews and such, but I don't get it. I know the obvious thing is simply how black the blacks are but I really don't notice that, I guess ignorance is bliss in my case. But man, you got a NICE tv, I can't even imagine how good it looks.

Thanks. What they mean by Black levels is how dark it is. On LCD TVs the Black is more like a very dark grey.
