I say we should offer Odom to the Magic for Turkoglu and filler. Turkoglu has developed into a clutch shooter, and is near 40% from the 3 point line. His defense is decent, and he's a very good passer as well.

This may not be the most equal of trades, but considering we need a pure SF, I would love Turkoglu on this team.

17.5 pts, 6.5 reb, 5.5 assists during the playoffs. During the season 19 pts, 5.7 reb, 5 assists, 40% from 3s

We get a marksman. Orlando gets a real PF so they can move shard back to SF.

his defense ain't that bad either. Poppovich loved him when he was in SA

Why ya gotta call me out like dat, son? http://lakernation.c...tyle_emoticons/default/cool.gif

I touched on this on LG.

- Tendonitis not a big deal.
- Article made it seem like one knee may have needed further diagnostic studies.
- No physician is going to cut on a knee with a history of tendonitis without extenuating circumstances (and/or trying everything else first) and if it gets that bad, it's no longer tendonitis.

- Just like Andrew, if it's prolonged pain that isn't alleviated by rest, get more studies...if it continues, a quick scope is prudent. Unlike Andrew, LO is not young enough that prolonged pain from tendonitis would be un-common.

Either way, stay on top of it. Preferably, come out of the offseason 100% or with everything as a KNOWN.

That's all for now...and no, tendonitis isn't (normally) career ending...career ALTERING/diminishing? yes.

And this report HURTS LO's chances at another big payday IF he can't prove that his SELF PRESCRIBED (based on the report) regimen of rest and relaxation worked. If he has extended problems (more than a few games missed) during the regular season, he will lower his trade and resign stock that much more.

Doubt LO's camp put this out. If they did, wow...not smart (especially since they didn't say if he did everything he could to make sure it is resolved).

At least he didn't put on some acting job like Paul Pierce.

Hopefully he doesn't get injured anymore. We should have a full team healthy for once.

An excuse?

Are you guys effing kidding me??

An excuse would have been in one of the post game interviews Lamar saying something like, "Yeah, I'm just out here grinding it out, I've got some pretty bad tendinitis that I'm playing through, might have to get it looked at after the play-offs."

If Kobe did the same thing you guys would be praising him. Pathetic.

At least he can play unlike some of the other players we got on the team. ;) Well I guess injury hindered them too but sometimes you wonder.

kobe has done it almost every year of his career and performs at a high level anyways

kobe has had tendinitis for 3 years straight now he scored 81 points with a knee requiring arthroscopic surgery, he scored 50+ points in 4 straight games with tendinitis and won 2 scoring titles and an MVP with tendinitis

what exactly has odom done for this team even when healthy

Too many excuses, for everything. His shoulders, his legs, his mind isn't in the right place, he's depressed because of all the things that have happened to him, etc. I'm starting to think Lamar is still here as a sympathy note to his career, nothing more.

When did LO start making excuses or start whining?

HIS team?

Wow...he's the 4th option and it's HIS team?

He GOT them to the Finals?

Revisionist history at it's best.

Oops...quick edit.

He was the THIRD option...

I think the quote was aimed at the people saying this was the reason LO didn't play up to his potential in the Finals not because he is not a winner or a good fit.

I'm still having problems believing that LO's camp would float this. It does NOT help him. It brings up more questions than it could possibly answer.

His fanboys are making excuses for him like they have been doing since 2004. Lamar Odom has no role in this offense. Phil doesn't know if he's a facilitator, a post player, a three-point shooter, or a sixth man. Nobody really knows, and it's because Lamar Odom can't make up his damn mind.

And no, it's not because he's versatile. He's not Garnett. Odom doesn't do one single thing on the court consistently. I don't like players that will go post up and make a shot a couple of times, then go slash and miss a layup, then drift outside and take a 23-footer and miss that, then try and set up his teammates and screw that up.

Odom is a superstar, but only in his own mind. That's exactly why he had a star shaved into his head, like an idiot.

When did LO start making excuses or start whining?

I didn't say Odom made any excuses. He usually isn't that quick to think of any during interviews.

Should I have said that he got someone else's team to the finals?
Just plain silly.
How about this?
Lamar Odom just happened to be playing on the Lakers team that made it to the finals. I in no way mean to imply that he made a contribution to that accomplishment, because to do so would certainly offend some posters.
On second thought, perhaps I should not mention Odom and Lakers in the same sentence. I suppose doing so would sully the image of whichever Laker you might possibly like. :hmm:
