I don't get why there's people on the site who act like this, I like seeing stats and you just say I'm "obsessed" with them.

No disrespect to you or anyone, I wasn't referencing anyone in particular, I'm just commenting on a whole basis, but the stats are better off non-existent in forums. It gets too political if something does happen, and it has already. I by far have a very much regrettable experience just dealing with 'stats' on forums.

And from what has risen recently in the forums, ppl should just ease up on it. Just enjoy being around fellow Lakers fans.

No disrespect taken, just thought you were addressing me since I was the most vocal about it in the thread.

I love being around Lakers fans, even the crazy ones, but I personally think these stats are part of the "forum" atmosphere.

If no one agrees on changes then I guess keep everything as is. Nothing is wrong right now, but I was with Real on removing "worthless" posts from the count.

I agree with Imadogg...its just a cool thing to see under someone's name...post counts should stay definitely.

I don't agree with removing the post count, BUT I know how RD got there. And I don't agree with people posting and posting just to get a big fat number on the post count, deleting posts instead of editing and double and triple posting. Think before posting something.

Can't we turn off post count in the OT?

It will still count to the total actual "forum" posts. Wouldn't it? What I mean is, it would still count on the bottom as a post, just not a member post...if you get what I mean.

If we turn off post count in the off-topic forums, 3/4 of our members would have 100 or less total posts.

I honestly think that Introduce yourself, and Gametime talk should be turned off as well.

Introduce yourself: "Welcome" "Hi, I'm Base, Stay Active"
Gametime talk: "C'mon Lamar, make your free throws!!!" "KOBEEEEEEEEEE"
^Those don't constitute a "Post"
Just my opinion though.

I want to turn off the post count on the entire site. I don't care about post count, profile views, ratings, etc.

I only care about Members Online Today stat and how many of those members follow the rules.

It seems to me that people are hating on the OT because people get the majority of their posts there. Is it really that important ?

I just recounted all posts, all member post counts, and reset the 'most online' statistic.

Chicano just lost 1,000 in deleted posts. Base, you lost 200.

I'm sure there will be many others wondering where their posts went, because I deleted (completely removed) 12,000 deleted posts from the database.

Yep, I lost nearly 600.

Thanks, RD.

I really don't care how much I have or how much I lost, ect. It's a great indicator of where we actually stand. Is it possible that we have the post counts reset at the start of every month? Since TLN doesn't count the posts that we delete when we do.

i agree with this idea. I've been on forums that dont tally posts + have no special features and I love it.

Didn't notice how many I lost lol.

Props Real Deal, getting work done! It's ok if they're wondering, you didn't remove any actual posts from anyone's post count right, just the deleted posts. So those are supposed to not even count.

Well done boss

Yea MDI, here if you deleted a post it wouldn't get removed from your post count, most other forums I've been on do take away posts from your count, so this is fair I think.

Deleted posts go into a separate trash can (a forum) that only administrators can see (maybe the mods can see them also, I don't remember).

So, technically, when you delete a post...it doesn't exactly leave the board. It's just moved into a hidden forum full of trash.

What I did was literally empty that trash, then recount the posts (total and member) using a script.

This feels to becoming a huge toll on the forum...ultimately the server if anyone did not realise.

Yes, mods have access to the hidden forum.

The forum was slow for a few minutes, after you deleted the posts.

Must be the script used to recount the posts....
