I think during season 3, they felt that they were about to get cancelled, and just went all out...

I mean, they get a super-star, mega-hottie... charleze theron... and what do they do? they make her a retard!

not a winning formula!

I felt S3 was kinda weak.

I'm guessing the writers just had enough.

Is the new season on Netflix uncensored? Cursing?

and the ending... well...

leaves A LOT to be desired...

And wtf... anyoung was like in that wall since season 1!

Jason Bateman was on Letterman last night, talked a bit about the new season including the banana stand & running into some never-nudes among other things:

He also claimed Will Arnett was to blame for the show being held out for so long.

They really miss the old writers. I've watched 3 episodes so far and I've only laughed a handful of times.

There's not enough subtlety with their jokes like the original AD, which is what made the show in the first place. Kinda painful to watch tbh. I ended up stopping after the 3rd episode and watching a random one from season 2 instead. The difference in quality is ridiculous. Hopefully it gets better.

I expected the first handful of episodes to be bad..

But, I figured they would hit their stride after a few...

I think I watched 5?

Overall it ended up being pretty good especially the Gob episodes. It took until like the 4th episode to really hit its stride.

That's tough to say because it follows such a different formula but if i had to I would say it wasn't as good.

Haven't liked Season 4 anywhere near as much as the first three. The original AD was so fresh and quick, there were jokes and subtleties like every other line that made me laugh. I've only laughed out loud like 4 or 5 times through 5 episodes here. The biggest problem is that they basically forced this season into individual character episodes when AD's winning formula was having an amazing ensemble cast.

Oh, and Portia De Rossi is an alien. So gross when she did to her face. Comedic actors NEED to have a broad array of facial expressions to be effective, and she basically botoxed all the emotion off her face. Ugh.
