OMFG, no disrespect to Chick n Stu but...that is a very amateurish conversation with Fido. =.=
I didn't really understand it then I talked to Marcum... Sorry...
I understand it know though. I put iTunes and Limewire on my external and just have it all play off of there.

They re-package their returns and/or defectives to increase sales numbers.
I'd strongly advise to stay away from Fry's at all costs - that place is bad news.

- 80GB WD for Windows
- 1.5TB Seagate for data
External
- 750GB WD for music & movies (back-up at home)
- 500GB WD for music (back-up off-shore)
So far everything's still working.
I use SyncBack to keep my data updated. Try it.

That's cool, I'm really looking forward to having such a huge cable network over in the states and able to hook up a dvr to transfer the recorded stuffs over etc.

Why did you wait till it died then get a new one? Had you? Now you lost all your data on the external?i think my external drive has officially died on me.
Your iTunes need to set the library storage location to your external HDD, if that's applicable. I don't like to use iTunes and that's one of the reasons why I still do not have an iPod product because they have to work in conjunction with iTunes. I pretty much prefer drag and drop folder mechanisms. So I moved all my music and itunes to my External and then I delete it all off my Internal... Then I open up iTunes and I have to rebuild the whole library and all the music ends back up on my Internal.
