How will this guy who torched us in game two NBA Finals look like in a Laker uniform

The Cavaliers are Leon Powe's first choice for a new team, according to a source, with the Orlando Magic second. Dallas and the L.A. Lakers have also made inquiries about Powe, who suffered a third serious knee injury in Game 2 of Boston's first-round series against Chicago. Powe underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee a week later. The most optimistic scenario is a recovery time of six to eight months, with a February return the hoped-for date. But it's not a certainty that Powe will sign with any of those teams.

I don't see where he fits in a front court of Bynum-Gasol-Odom
even Artest.

Not to mention we already have Powell who does the same thing Powe could do for us..

If Lakers were to use the Vet Min, I'd prefer they pursue a wing player.

Bring him to La maybe he can bring those refs he had in game 1 against us in the finals that gave him all of those free throws

Would any of you guys seriously consider putting Artest ahead of Powe in the frontcourt???

Powe is a proven frontcourt player whereas Ron is a true SF. Just because he's bulked does mean he can play SF.

...and Id take Powe over Powell in a hearbeat!

His return date is tentatively set at February? That's next year. What benefit do we get from a dude that would be coming off of a knee surgery, has not played basketball for some time, and has to learn the Lakers offense, all the while most of the season has passed.
The Lakers FO knows more than you. Sorry.

We get a player for future years. I wouldn't expect anything from him next year but who knows.

If he can bring those referees from Game 2 of the 08 Finals with him, I say sign him up.

you guys do realize he's coming off major knee surgery right? Don't think the dude will be close to being as good as was the last couple of years

If he was the Celtics would've kept him

ahhh LAKERS its gonna be 2010.

Lets move on bro :dance1:

The Lakers whooping the Celtics up last season twice is not enough!!!

The Lake show should be coming at Boston more hungrier next season!!

Eh, I guess you're right, but I'm never going to forget that series or games 2 and 4. One was a terribly officiated game that ended up screwing us, and the other was the worst meltdown ever. Powe is a decent player, but we already have Powell who can't even get into the rotation. There's no point to signing him onto our squad.

no deal, that knee injury sounded serious. Also, Celtics didn't sign him for a reason.

I'd stay away.
