LeBron James was a key reason why Team USA won the gold and that it is the pinnacle of team achievement for the superstar.

"It's the biggest thing for me ever," said James. "I got to the NBA Finals, and I thought it was pretty big for me. But winning an NBA championship never would compare to winning a gold medal for my country."

Impossible to say unless you've done both.

He probably feels this makes up for the disappointment that happened in 2004. Gold Medal is pretty impressive though no matter what sport. :(

one is for national pride, the other is for city pride. i can see why some would say gold is more important. even kobe said it, so lebron could be on to something.

I see faith in your eyes
never you hear the discouraging lies
broken is the promise, betrayal
the healing hand held back by deepened nail
follow the god that failed

...as it should be.
this was about returning to the world's stage as the de facto authority in hoops.
mission accomplished.
i wouldn't have a single problem with Kobe saying the same exact thing.
