IMO, i don't like it on ABC/ESPN..NBC was much more better. With Bob Costas, Bill Walton, Doug Collins, etc..i loved it. Wasn't all flashy, was about basketball. And those game previews were the greatest ever.

And bring the NBA back to TBS on Mondays, lol.

Thoughts?

The NBA has a contract with ABC until the 2016 season. It's not going anywhere.

When NBC Sports' contract with the NBA expired in 2002, the broadcast rights were passed to ABC, which began airing games the next season. NBC had made a four-year, $1.3 billion bid in the spring of 2002 to renew its NBA coverage, but the league instead made six-year deals worth $4.6 billion with ESPN, ABC, and TNT. In the last four years of the final contract, NBC lost $300 million dollars. NBC only offered $325 million a year compared to ESPN's $400 million.

By the way, I get goosebumps everytime I hear the NBA on NBC theme song. Reminds me of
the Bull's Dynasty years.

I loved NBC. So much better... I also would like to see Stu and Joel do the games for us in the finals.

Their intro song is classic. Sticks with you doesn't it?

CBS to me is horrible. NBC was nice. I don't even mind it airing on ABC but yes I do get signal issues and blackouts, etc.

The ESPN-factor will make it hard to pull the NBA away from ABC, IMO.

What does NBC have to offer? Games on the USA Network? CNBC? MSNBC? Not as enticing.

Good points unfortunately.
