That title really seems to be wrong, the clear leader is Jason Kidd...although Lebron, Carmelo and Dwayne have been staples of the USA team since 2004....
Yao can be understandably that high is because his hometown is China, and he's a pinnacle of popularity among chinese for basketball...and this olympics is in Beijing...so it's quite reasonable I believe...but Kobe at way down 33 is like
