They're on the backup squad I believe.

I was thinking the exact same thing about Wade. He looks like he's 40.
As for Robin Lopez, Derrick Rose, (and Russel Westbrook, who is also pictured) they are on the Select Team. It's a team of young players that scrimmages against the Senior National Team. They are basically grooming them to play USA Basketball in the future. However, they are NOT the backup squad. The USA Senior National Team has 30 or so players on it, but only 12 are picked to go to the Olympics. They all signed 3 year contracts back in 06 to play in the 06 FIBA World Championships, 07 FIBA Tournament of the Americas, and 08 Olympics. They've added a couple players each summer, and so everyone that doesn't make the 12 man team are the "backups." They actually have 5 players in addition to the 12 that are the official backups that they have to submit to the Olympic Commitee. Most of the time those players don't travel with the team though, although this year Tyson Chandler was going to (because of the shortage of bigs), but he may not because he hurt his toe.
