Watched the replay again last night and i've got a question for anyone who feels like Metaphor that Cotto is damaged goods after the Margarito fight. What would a 100% Cotto have done against Manny? The guy lasted almost all the fight. Yes he was in retreat mode for a minute. Could a 100% Cotto win the fight? I think he's the same fighter he's always been. He lost to the P4P fighter & if he was damaged goods, then perhaps the pre-Margarito fight Cotto could've made this contest a more close one.

my answer is: watch Cotto vs Shane
pre-margarito, he has always had stamina issues and isnt the defensive genius that some Cotto stans make him out to be...he gasses and gets hit...IIRC, he was in full retreat mode from the 10th round on in that fight

actually, even a 100% cotto wouldn't be able to beat the present Manny, Manny keeps on evolving and keeps on getting better. Cotto could hurt Manny in the later rounds, but i believe his power has been diminished. Cotto would definitely lose to the present Manny, but not this way.

if you want to see how good Cotto is, just watch his fight against Mosley. He picked Mosley apart in that fight

I think that even before the Margarito fight, Cotto never was mentioned in a serious P4P discussion. Manny's been there for some time along with Mayweather.
