It was Trevor Ariza, who may have officially wrested the Bruce Bowen Ace Defender/Dangerous Spot-Up Shooter title from the Spurs aging forward on Friday, hounding Carmelo Anthony on 'Melo's 25th birthday while knocking down three crowd deflating three-pointers.

He's going to be more like Scottie than Bruce. Write it down.

I was so ecstatic when traded for him, I wanted him on the Lakers since he got drafted. He's really turning into a great player.
Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

Scottie? LMAO!

Stop overrating Ariza! Ariza is a slasher and he plays the passing lanes well. He's not a defensive stopper and he really needs to work on his man to man defense.

What has Ariza done in the NBA? Comparing a role player to one of the greatest players of all time and one of the greatest players in his era.

Ariza will never be half as good as Pippen.

Scottie Pippen
  • Carried two teams on his back.
  • Played on one of the greatest teams ever (Chicago Bulls).
  • Future HOF.
  • 7 time All-Star Player.
  • All-Star Game MVP.
  • Pippen is one of four NBA players to lead his team in all five major statistical categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals) in a season.
  • 10 NBA All-Defensive honors.
  • 8 NBA All-Defensive First Team honors.
  • Played on the greatest team ever - The Dream Team.

He's not going to be Scottie. I never said that.
I said he's going to be more like Scottie than Bruce Bowen.
Do you understand what that means? Let's not put words in my mouth or misconstrue my words.

I know what you mean.

I'm just tired of people comparing him to Pippen and Cooper on Laker forums. <_<

he may reach coop status. coop was a special defender but ariza has all the talent

but ariza will never reach scottie

aside from his teammate MJ scottie just may have been the second best perimeter player in the NBA

seriously it was like if we put kobe and lebron on the same team with a bunch of shooters and rebounders

Ariza will never reach Cooper.

Cooper was a shut down man to man defender, Defensive Player of the Year, and made the All-Defensive First Team five times.

Ariza has always reminded me of one of my all time favorite Lakers, Eddie Jones. He's built like him and has a similar game.

And he isn't a jerk of a player like Bowen is...

Well, Ariza isn't a dirty bastard, so I don't see him turning into the next Bruce Bowen
