DB, just curious, did you see Phil's press conference? Did you agree with it at all or did you think he was just straight up crazy?

Yes, I saw it.

I agree with him partly...He wasn't saying the Lakers lost cause of the referee's but was saying the referee's were poor. He went a tiny bit over the top at the end but this is expected from a Head Coach.

^ Many examples of course, but I just personally find it disturbing 3 CLEARLY OBVIOUS plays were not called from Dahntay Jones, ALL DIRTY as HELL!

First, the clear push on Kobe while he's in the air in game 3, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, could've been seriously injured, just a foul, no flagrant, no nothing in the game. Everybody saw it and they just called it a regular foul during the game. No play on the ball WHATSOEVER!!

Then this, BUT WATCH at 0:30 specifically, cuz that angle BY FAR shows it the WORST!!

Then, (again, NO CALL WAS MADE, right in front of the ref, NOT EVEN A DAMN FOUL!! no play on the ball WHATSOEVER YET AGAIN!!

then this..

a couple of plays after the trip, this happenned

Posted Image

he undercut Kobe, Bruce-Bowen like play

AGAIN, NOTHING CALLED, no play on the ball WHATSOEVER!! you see the theme here? and ALL three times, NO PLAY on the ball WHATSOEVER, these refs are just brutal.. nene hits luke in the throat, technical on luke.. then they take it personal against luke, he gets like 2 or 3 fouls in a row, 2 or three of them ABSOLUTE TICKY TACK BS!! how the hell are we supposed to play physical and be the 'aggresors' when the refs don't let us? They let one team, but not us.. CALL IT THE SAME ON BOTH SIDES DAMN IT!! [expletive]!!!!!!!

i have a ton, but another one.. game 3, that technical fisher got like in mid court with kenyon martin, kenyon pushes fisher right in front of two refs, and the refs call the tech on fisher and NOTHING ON K MART!! Anyone remember this? I know some of you do... ughhh [expletive]!

granted, AGAIN, we do need to play better ourselves, but i'm just saying, it's not fair to us also that just because we don't have the rep of being known as a super tough, physical, or even dirty team, that when we try to match the intensity and physicality, we get penalized for that MORE than the opposition.. I WANNA SEE SOME [expletive]ING CONSISTENCY and FAIRNESS on BOTH SIDES!! We wanna play aggressive, but when you don't know what's a foul and what's not because of the refs' [expletive]ING GLARING INCONSISTENCIES AND INJUSTICES, WTF can you do? you can't control [expletive]!!!

Its not about allowance. The Lakers are simply a finesse team.

And, how are the Cavs overrated? They're the best team in the league.

I agree with the first one but I have to disagree with the second one. The best team in the league = NBA Championship. Regular season titles means NOTHING.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Chicano, the trip was horrible and definitely a foul but I ask you again, why on earth would the refs be biased AGAINST us for the Nuggets?

I can understand Stern's Celtics bias in last years finals, but favouring the Nuggets over the Lakers is damaging for the NBA commercially. It would make no sense, as any "casual" fans watching around the world won't give two [expletive]s about the Nuggets. People would rather see a Kobe v LeBron matchup.

its is about "allowance". If Nuggs can push and shove and we cant, that means they are "allowed' we arent.

Enough with the biasness damn it, I don't wanna' hear that word or crap, I'm talking about the damn game and what i saw with my own two [expletive]ING EYES!! this league is just disgusting.. we get the benefit of the doubt sometimes, and sometimes we don't, and that goes for EVERYBODY and EVERY FAN, but the GLARING INCONSISTENCY FROM THE REFS IS JUST [expletive]ING DISGUSTING!! if you're gonna' let one team play a certain way, then LET THE OTHER AS WELL!! [expletive]!! don't penalize them for trying harder or trying to match that intensity/aggression. call it fair on both [expletive]ING SIDES! i'm calling what i see again, with my two [expletive]ing eyes! plus, i have a dvr, fortunately, so i'm blessed to have the ability to go back and do REPLAYS MYSELF, instead of having to rely on a one time viewing or the announcers or people doing the game not showing the play again or replay, ... if you have a dvr or tivo, there are SOOO many things you can see that you would never see or miss so much if you didn't have one. believe that. maybe then, even more people would understand and see JUST how [expletive]ING horrible the refereeing is! and AGAIN, i TOLD you, i clarifed, it goes BOTH ways.. some games, it's more in our favor and some games it's not...

and don't give me the i never complain about the refs when we win, i STILL do.. i'm gonna call it JUST like i see it and i don't give a [expletive] how anyone else feels about that.. what I SEE with my eyes, i'm gonna' call it..

I want to answer this. They need long series. Did you see what was on the air when series ended early? Billiards, and con-air. Its not about them favoring nuggs to go to finals as much as its creating a long revenue generating series.

look at east game 3. They try to give bron the game realizing a magic win could result in a quick out. bron also got mad love in game 2. I expect us to get love in game 5 with refs knowing the nuggs get game 6.

All we heard when cavs swept early series how bron was no where to be seen. They cant have that now in either conference.

The officiating is topic on every media outlet. Stern/refs dont care. In fact it builds tension.

I think there's this misconception of the league wants Lebron vs Kobe in the finals. It might be true, but the league really wants Lebron to win the championship, and I think if it came down to it, the league would rather have the Nuggets vs Cavaliers and Lebron win the title, than Lakers vs Cavaliers and Kobe end up with the title. Thats just me though.

Yes I agree, but has this "aggressor"/"Defender" subject not already been discussed in this thread?

Yes I also have a dvr and if the game is not on I can download the torrent so I have seen the same things you have.

You at least are one of the more consistent posters here with your opinion which is extremely respectable.

A Lakers v Cavs series would last longer than a Cavs v Nuggets series...Plus, a Lakers v Cavs series would be revolutionary for merchandise.

I understand Stern would be happy to see LeBron win, but at the same time, the Lakers are known as THE team all around the world, the Cavs haven't built up the same reputation yet.

I ALREADY accepted that We will win the Championship and erase all the negative Cuz Lakers will this series and win the championship

I also accepted FROM TIME. That every teams in the playoffs are going to be tough. This isnt walk in the park. Denver are 2 seed. It wasnt going to be a sweep. I knew they would win 1-2 games.

Well, I will get flamed but It hurts me to say that I don't see us winning the ring anymore, It's just not possible the way we are playing, I beleived we could change but It's not happening, maybe for 1 game or 2. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm starting to lower my expectations.

We lack toughness and hunger in my opinion. The look on Bynum's face when he plays is like "Oh, I just got my 3rd foul in the 1st quarter...Oh well, I'm goin clubbin tonight". We cant have our starting Center being like that. I think it has something to do with playing in LA...

Other than toughness, another thing I realized is...were kind of OVERRATED. I hate to say that, but we're not as good as people think we are. People suggested to skip the Playoffs because it was a sure thing the Cavs-Lakers would cakewalk to the Finals, but right now it's looking like it wont happen.

I believe in our Lakers. I know we're gonna beat Denver, but I just hate when people say we're underachieving. We're just not that good yet. We have the personnel, we have the best closer in the game, and we have the best coach in basketball. It's just a matter of what we do with all of it.

Thats how I've felt for some time, esp. during Game 3. But the Lakers have kept winning and they have shut me up. But yeah I know that feeling, this team has so much potential to be killer but doesn't have that killer instinct.

Right now, we're winning games, and while they're not as "flashy" as many want them to be, the point is to win games. People expect our team to be perfect all around, Kobe getting 40+, Pau with 30+, Odom and Bynum playing defense, the bench making shots, every win to be by 50. I just want to win period. That's all I care about.

Pau needs Bynum playing well, and the team needs Odom playing well. If only Kobe, Pau and Ariza play well we aren't going anywhere.
