Kobe Bryant will mix and match his defensive assignments throughout Game 2.

"We just want to have a presence out there, a sense of what we want to present to them defensively," said Phil Jackson. "It's like saying we're not going to allow Chauncey to take advantage of this game right off the bat, hit his shots and set the table for the team.

"We'd like to make something else happen. I guess we did, we got Carmelo going like crazy."

That's gonna be a hell of a lot of work guarding Melo, Chauncey and J. R. Smith.

Kobe played great defense and stayed out of foul trouble to boot against those players. I think that is what made his night incredibly impressive. I hope Ariza can contain Melo even if he just forces Melo to shoot jumpshots. That would help our bigs stay out of foul trouble and not create so many good looks for denver.
