The Lakers are concerned with how many minutes and the kind of effort Kobe Bryant must put on his legs during their playoff run.

"We're concerned about how much energy he has to expend," Phil Jackson said. "We know he looked a little fatigued."

"We don't normally ask him to carry us offensively and carry us on defense, too," said Derek Fisher.

"We're always fighting that balance. He's such a good defensive player, but we can't ask that of him every night. He can do it some nights, usually when he doesn't have to score 40 points for us to win."

I hope Kobe get some rest but i doubt it since Nuggets are gonna bring it.

Yup last night's game should be an exception. Never should we play like that again with Kobe carrying us offensively and defensively.

"I'm not worried about wearing down," he said. "That's my job. You're supposed to play both ends of the court."

He carried the load offensively and guarded Melo/Billups on the other end. Tremendous job Kobe

Definately, he even said he still feels young even at age 30. Sucks as theyre getting old, it ain't gonna be the same.

At age 30, he's in this to win it. He got the MVP and all . He wants more rings. He's hungry for em.

34 mins either way, he's playing hard and guarding Melo isn't easy.

It's not just about the amount of minutes, but also the amount of activity out there. Like Fish said, Kobe carried us on both ends of the court, something he shouldn't have to do. It's great to know that he's capable of doing it if necessary, but it's not something they should get used to.

ESPN always has errors for some reason.

Anywayz, I'm not worried about Kobe. King Kong could be meeting him at the rim with a loaded gun and Kobe would still challenge him if a ring was at the top.

He'll be more than fine.

Yup. If you get voted for MVP's. 1st team Defenses and want to be argued one of the best ever, this is what you do. Its on him taking as many shots as he has to. defense is another story. he claims to hang his hat on defense so that part shouldnt never be neglected. Also carrying the team late is why hes called the closer. its what he does.

Good for kobe recognizing that what he did is whats expected

OT- great quote from Charlie Rosen

"Like Moses — and unlike Kobe — LeBron could only lead his team to the brink of the promised land in Game 1"
