The reason for this...is that we have a couple of guys coming here just to take AIM addresses and spam you (hate to say it, but that's considered spam because the members aren't asking for those messages). With the "New Member" group, I can shut off access to certain forums, such as the sim league (which means you'll have to have 30 posts to participate, also...and if that's a problem, you can contact me and I'll fix this for you).
The others didn't get a chance to talk about this with me, but it was something that needed to be done immediately.
So, again, if you're at 30 or more posts, don't panic if you're in the new member group. It takes one post to remove you from it, automatically.

once you're over 30 posts then you just need to post once, doesn't matter where, and you'll get removed from the "new members" group to the "members" group.
obviously, with you having posted above, you're no longer in the "new members" group, so you don't have to worry about it
