^ Melo's half Puerto Rican. He's been featured before on some Hispanic magazines. His wife Lala Vasquez is also half Latina I think.

Don’t Forget Carmelo Anthony Is Hispanic

http://slamonline.co...ny-is-hispanic/

Doesn't really say definitively if he speaks any Spanish though, but one thing is certain, he does more than acknowledge he's Hispanic and shows pride in it. In fact, I'm pretty sure he even has some sorta tattoo of Puerto Rico or something Hispanic related.

EDIT: Have to go back and edit my first post. Some dude in the Spanish section reminded me that Kobe speaks some Spanish as well, mostly Italian more, but still some Spanish. Enough to count him in this for sure. His wife's Mexican-American of course. She probably taught him some too possibly.

Literally, she was born with her hands attached to her shoulders... and that was sad, but then they said, "Lola does not know the meaning of the word 'can't.'" And that to me was kinda worse... in a way... ya know? Not only does she not have arms, but she doesn't understand simple contractions. It's very simple Lola, you just take two words, you put them together, then you take out the middle letters, you put a comma in there and you raise it up!" -Mitch Hedberg

True, he probably picked up enough of the language to get by. I'll be putting Jennings on my All-Star Italian speaking team. I think Sean Marks took a semester of Spanish in middle school, so I'm throwing him on here too.

What about Trevor Ariza?

His mother's family is Dominican and he lived in Venezuela.

^ Yeah, he might be in there as well, but I don't have 100% clarification that he does know or speak any, but based on those facts, it would seem likely he would.

Nene doesn't speak Spanish. In Brazil they speak Portuguese.

Leandro Barbosa also doesn't speak Spanish.

Might want to do some reading on Geography

You're right in Nene and Barbosa's case, however, just because Spanish isn't the main language in Brazil doesn't mean some Brazilians don't speak it either. Varejao as mentioned earlier here is already an example that is Brazilian and DOES speak Spanish.

You put them in your list, when the probability is that they don't speak Spanish.

Because Varejão played proffesional basketball in Spain?

Ughh, he speaks Spanish right? Does it really matter HOW one learned? Bottomline is he knows it so it counts. Enough said.

Italian is the closest to Spanish though, then it would be Portuguese, and then it would be French imo.
