I see faith in your eyes
never you hear the discouraging lies
broken is the promise, betrayal
the healing hand held back by deepened nail
follow the god that failed

Lakers vs. Rockets will be a great series. The Rockets have two solid defenders to try and keep Kobe from dominating the series, and they have Yao Ming who attracts double teams and he can kick it out to the wide open three point shooters. Rockets lack a good bench, we can take advantage of that. Look for the bench of the Lakers to dominate the series.

EDITED MY 1st post to have a POLL.

And this topic is hardly premature. The Lakers control the series against the Utah. They cant lose homecourt advantage to the Jazz. The Jazz have to go 3-0 and win 2 in LA. C'mon....give it a rest. I guarentee the Lakers coaching staff has advanced to preparing a gameplan vs. H-town or Ripcity.

Everyone here loves to point out the statistical reasons LA loses games.......

Well heres a statistical reason LA will win 1 of the next 3 games vs Utah.

In the History of the NBA when a homecourt advantage holding team is up 3 games to 1 and has 2 remaining home games they have NEVER lost the series. NEVER

Only 1 time has it ever happend in the History of sports that have best of 7 game series, being the Boston Redsox via Big Poppi....lol

Heres another:
Only three 8th seeded teams have ever managed to win a series versus the number 1 seeded team:
The Denver Nuggets eliminated the Seattle SuperSonics 3-2 in 1994
The New York Knicks eliminated the Miami Heat 3-2 in 1999 (which was a lockout shortened season),
And since the induction on the best of 7 games 1st round format only The Golden State Warriors have defeated a #1 seed, the Dallas Mavericks 4-2 in the 2007.

I think the Rockets would be harder to beat... I'd rather take Portland.

We don't wanna see the Trailblazers.

I am completely with you on that one. Playing in Portland is hell!!! I it would be easier to win in Houston than Portland.

Portland definite no-no. I dun wanna take chances against a confidence-boosted blazers team.

Well Kobe is so confident Vs. the Blazers. Well not really, but he wanted to play against them, so why not? BRING ON THE BLAZERS. It would be a much much more interesting series, and Blazers have the potential to take it to 7 games. Any team that can take the Lakers to the limit would be a good series. By these comments you all seem afraid of Portland. Everyone is so confident that they will cruise to the finals, so come what may, but I want the Blazers.

What's funny is, a lot of the motivators for wanting to play Houston disappear upon Houston (finally) winning a play-off round.

I still can't see Phil losing a play-off series to Rick Adelman - ever!

I'm really glad our team doesn't have the attitude that some of the fans have. If they had the mindset that they didn't want to play a certain team, we would have no chance at a title.

I don't know about all that. When was the last time we even won in Portland?

LOL 5 years ago in 05 season :nervous:

My opinion on this is; bring any team on. We need to beat the best, we need to go to Hell to get the ring. Bring portland or Rockets.

Lakers in 5 against both teams

Matchups are the key in the PO's. We match up terrible with the blazers but well with the rockets. Aldridge actually has done very well against Gasol and the combo of oden and Prycilla matches against Bynum good. Roy and kobe... he has had good games against him and the Blazers bench is deep and athletic. Bring on the Rockets!!! I hope..

no doubt about that. Give Walton and Ariza a little more time to rehab the ankles. Give KB, LO, Fish and Pau a rest and hope Drew watches some game film instead of going tp parties w/ broke beezies @ Hef's.

I just want Portland to win tonight's game so we can have some extra rest time.
