Also, when did you learn how to type and how? Albeit in school, a certain grade, buying a program & learning at home, etc.

Truth be told, I learned on my own just from talking to my friends on AIM so much - I eventually was just able to type fast, accurately, and without looking. I've been able to do this pretty easily probably since I was in high school.

I'm not that fast and I don't type how you're supposed to, but I'm not super slow or anything.

Just did the "astronaut" test, and...
Net Speed: 64 WPM
(words/minute)
Accuracy: 98%
Gross Speed: 65 WPM
(words/minute)
Used a few typing programs when I was a kid. Mavis Beacon, Mario Teaches Typing, and another but don't remember the name.

These same Small Soldiers?i learned typin..at home playin this small soldiers computer game back in the day..whenever that movie came out

No way, lol. That's too cool. Wish I could've learned that way, surely would've been much funner. I learned way back around my 7th grade year in middle school, but mostly in 8th grade. Started in the chatrooms, AOL chatrooms specifically when I was in sixth grade I think, and from there, I learned a few things here and there, but wasn't learning the appropriate way. Once I got to 8th grade, my Father and I made a deal. I always wanted some Chad Muska shoes so badly at the time and I needed money to get em'. So he told me he'd give me $100 if I learned how to type appropriately learning from a program we had at home on our computer. I did so and got my Muskas.
Then came high school and I was more than prepared/ready. I took computer keyboarding there and I just blew away EVERYONE. I dominated the competition, was number one by far! Even dominated upperclassmen of all levels, including Seniors of course. It was hilarious. A lot of them looked at me like WTF? They were pissed, some of them were, but I loved it, hahaha suckers, good times. Anyway, that class was so effin' chill. I pretty much got 100% on everything or close to. Nothing ever below 95%, ever, that's for sure.
& Imadogg, I will answer that later because I feel like it, no other reason, lol.

I think the minimum for court recorders is 175 WPM. That's just INSANE.

Just did the "astronaut" test, and...

Tried it again but the aesop's fable test...

With that one, I got...
Net Speed: 84 WPM
(words/minute)
Accuracy: 98%
Gross Speed: 85 WPM
(words/minute)
And indeed, 175 is insane.

You can add it to your facebook or myspace as well, it's pretty cool, and also play it as a game and race others or some of your friends.
I got 108 WPM, 99% accuracy. It was awesome! Haha. I know I could do better though, but I was a little rusty, lol. After all, one gets tried from posting so many threads and so many posts ya' know? Lol.

Anyone know the minimum requirements for data entry with speed/WPM specifically? What's the lowest you can have to qualify?
