Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says that executive Pat Riley offers some suggestions at times, but doesn't tell him what to do with the club.

Spoelstra said that Riley offers advice "but never said anything like, 'You should do this.' "

Riley also told him to go with his "instincts" heading into the playoffs.
