Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo told the Associated Press that he will offer forward Chris Bosh a contract extension this summer.
Bosh can opt out of his contract at the end of next year.
"Chris is still the best player on this team and thus will remain the cornerstone of the franchise," Colangelo said Monday. "I will sit down and talk to him and his agent this summer about the possibility of signing an extension."
Bosh has two years and approximately $33 million remaining on his current contract, and Colangelo hopes that the uncertain economy will allow the team to retain the All-Star long-term.
