Houston forwards Ron Artest and Shane Battier are focused on stopping Portland star Brandon Roy in their first-round playoff series.

Roy is the Blazers' top scorer, and has led them to their first postseason appearance since the 2002-03 season.

"I think that just like they're getting excited about shutting me down, I'm getting excited about not letting them to," Roy said.

Roy is averaging 22.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

"He has a great understanding of the game for a young guy, and a great feel for the game," Battier said. "When you add his athleticism and his ball control, that's a tough guy to stop. It's going to be a long series for Ron and me."

Game One between Houston and Portland is Saturday night.

haha im going to love that. B. Roy is a legit budding superstar. I would love to see how he fares when Houston releases their defensive Pitbulls on him. Artest and Battier baby, gotta love em.

It won't matter, they have to stop the 10 man game not just Roy. Portland won't even lose at Home to Houston this whole series.

Worst player of the day. Didn't show up whatsoever. They kept showing his face and he looked totally petrified.

Portland will bounce back. I still have the Rockets winning in 6 or 7. Roy is a stud. The most efficient guard in the game. Knows how to run a team.

Houston may finally reach the 2nd round, and they don't even need T-mac...

What a waste of 20 mil.

Everyone has been overrating Portland. They don't have the experience yet to make a deep playoff run.
