Stephen A. Smith will be gone completely from ESPN at the end of the NBA playoffs.

THE BIG LEAD has the scoop:

Within the last month, a source says that ESPN and (Stephen A.) Smith went to the negotiating table and couldn’t reach an agreement. Apparently, ESPN’s offer was considerably lower than Smith’s previous contracts - which were multi-media faceted - and Smith passed. He was then offered the decision to work through the remainder of his contract, or walk away and still get paid, and a source says Smith decided to work.

I'm gonna' miss him. After all, he was the one who delighted us with this classic:

I also enjoyed how he was controversial sometimes and wasn't afraid to bring up the race card even if sometimes he was reaching and sometimes he wasn't. Just the fact that he wasn't afraid to I respected.

^ Most definitely. Hopefully he just starts working over at NBATV, that'd be good enough for me since I watch that channel quite a lot.

Love to see jim on TNT with Charles Barkely, I can hear it now:
" KWAME BROWN :turrible: "

or on ABC with Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy:

"Mama there goes that man, Oh My God!"

"The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences,
and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon,
for each day to have a new and different sun."

Yeah he pissed me off when he jumped on kobe's quote and said Mitch is basically stupid for not trading Bynum for Kidd. I never heard Steven "cheese doodles" Smith admit he was wrong.

actually they are very similiar... off the cuff, loud personalities who often let their ego get the best of them. I give a  to both.

How often do you see analysts admit when they're wrong? If you have, please back it up with examples.

I have heard many people say including analysts that they were wrong about a player. Smith's ego won't let him admit his being wrong.
