Blu-ray is unbelievable. Thats not a sales pitchy over statement cuzz it just is. If you have a 1080P TV and you actually want to see what true 1080P HD looks like you can only do so with Blu-ray. That being said I was wondering how many people here allready copped a Blu-ray player and how many are still holding out because they think dvd's are still the way.

I just got LOST seasons 3 and 4 on b/r and its rediculous image quality. Let me know ya thoughts.

i have my ps3 hooked up to my 1080P sony

i don't buy blu-ray dvds, but always rent them off of netflix, and i gotta say it's amazing

if somebody here is not convinced as to how great blu-ray really is, watch the planet earth (bbc tv-series) blu-ray dvds. jaw-dropping.

You don't need blu-ray to watch 1080P. I love my new HP laptop with HDMI output. And on a 52 inch Sony Bravia...it's beautiful.

Thats a cool set up but what kind of movie format are you playing off the laptop. If its DVD then its really only 480P at the very best. My VAIO has HDMI outputs but only plays DVD's so I know its not close to the same thing. Downloads from netflix and others are at 1080i. It may look awesome non the less cuzz the Bravia is god.....lol. But the jump to blu-ray is still a unbelievable difference. I admit even I didnt think it was going to be. "HD DVD" was also 1080P but they've been discontinued because the movie studios were in favor of Blu-ray. So it cant be that. Does your laptop play b/r? I read somewhere that next year b/r players will be standard in all computers. I dont know if thats crackin yet though.

i'm pretty sure he's referring to watching a blu-rap rip from your HDD, which will be in either 1080p, or 720p (1920x1080, or 1366x768 respectively) both resolutions any videocard should be able to easily output, and with HDMI out, you don't lose any quality from your laptop to your television so long as the television (or computer monitor for that matter) supports 1080p

I got a PS3, love it.

I don't watch many Blu-movies(mostly because I hardly have any). The video and audio quality is noticeably better though. It's oooh, ahhh inspiring.

The Dark Knight is the only BR movie I bought.

I have that and the ones I got for free from the Sony promotion. Was pissed because they sent me Happy Feet instead of Italian Job. WTF! Apples and oranges.

My PS3 is hooked up to my 32" Vizio I got at Sam's.

I got a PS3 last year for Blu Ray alone. I have it hooked up to my audio receiver and the DTS HD and Dolby TrueHD are reasons enough to upgrade. When you add in the PQ, its great.

I don't have one, no reason to.

I can stream and download Blu-ray quality. It's a waste of money.

It's not really the same quality. Ive done both. Blu-ray is much better quality

The transfer of data alone during streaming lessens quality
