Look at the pace that Cleveland plays at.You do realize that is a poor excuse don't you?
When Utah played Cleveland...Cleveland kept them under 100 in both games.
When Utah played Boston...Boston kept them under 100 in both games.
Playing at "high speed" is a cop-out. Utah is not a great team...they're a solid team but great teams play defense and Utah doesn't and neither do we for that matter. You can't argue with facts.
Look at the Pace the Celtics play at.
Laker play a faster pace than both Cleveland and Boston. Therefore, the team that plays at a faster pace will have more posessions than the team(s) that play at a slower pace. Since the team is getting more posessions it means that their opponets are getting opportunities also.
Jazz
Average possessions Vs Celtics: 102 Average Score: 90.5 Per 100: 88.73
Average Possessions Vs. Cleveland: 103 Average score 95 Per 100: 92.233
Average possessions Vs. Lakers: 111 Average Score: 103 Per 100: 92.78
Proof that more possessions=more points.
Even if Celtics held the Jazz to 90.5 points on average between the two games? They ended up 1-1 to them. And losing a game 90-85 to the Jazz, is just as bad as losing 88-86.
Lakers may be allowing more points per 100 possessions, but 2 games are hard to determine average. Lakers played the Jazz 6 times and they allowed under 100 for 1 game. In one of the regular season games, Jazz had about 177 possessions, I don't think cleveland or Boston, or anyteam for that matter can hold Utah under 100 with 117 possessions.

Pace has nothing to do with it. Defense can be applied no matter what pace a team plays. Teams run when they can and its not like we're godly on fast breaks. We run the triangle and thats not exactly a fast paced offense. We're simply skilled on offense at some positions.

Pace does have a lot to do with it. Which team will score more, the team that gets 1 possession or the team that gets 9 possessions in a game?Pace has nothing to do with it. If you said, 9 possessions, let me tell you now, you are being a hypocrite. When Lakers play the Jazz, Jazz average 8 more possessions than when playing the Celtics and Cavaliers. Even if you "turn on" your defense for the entire 1 possession, or the entire 9 possessions, I can almost garurentee you that you will allow more points on a regular basis having to defend 9 possessions than 1.

How did rap music go from really good to so dry?
Real artists get shelved and whack one's get famous
To leave masses brainless, a smart mind is dangerous
In their eyes there probably ain't no real [expletive] in your playlist
You're just a product of what the government has created
