I think I speak for all when I saw that I’m really enjoying the Lakers current struggles and misery. But you know what terrifies me? Not necessarily that they’re going to figure things out and win 15 straight, because I think that ship has sailed. It’s that they’re going to win a couple games and grab everyone’s attention and fire up stories like, “Have the Lakers turned the corner?” And it obviously starts by beating a team like the Thunder on national TV.

If you think you’ve heard this story before, it’s because I said almost the exact same thing the first two games against LA. And both times, the Thunder put the Lakers back in their place. It’s very obvious the Thunder are superior to the Lakers in every way, but they do have four likely Hall of Famers and are still a threat to start playing dangerous basketball. And you know — you know — if they beat the Thunder today, it’s going to cause a minor freakout. I’d very much prefer that not happen.

Lakers are just 4 games out of 8th. They have more talent than the teams immediately above them. It's possible (although unlikely) that they pass them. Just throwing some food for thought out there.

Scary scenario: Lakers finish the season on a great run, grab the 7th or 8th seed. We have to face a motivated (and hot) Lakers team in the first round.

That play reminded me of those early 2000s playoff series against the Spurs. Kobe would cut through the Spurs defense and Duncan and Robinson would meet him at the rim and he'd just hand it off to Shaq for the easy dunk. There was one play where he wrapped the pass around Duncan or Robinson's back right to Shaq.

Haha I'm pretty sure that was nothing close to the system Mike envisioned coming here, Nash playing off the ball with Kobe posting up 90% of the game and making plays. That was as much as an "Iso Kobe" game as we have had this year

We played "Iso Kobe" more in the second half but he didn't take contested jumpers. Pretty effective considering "Iso Kobe" will attract defenders leaving someone open. They can't stop that cause if they don't come to Kobe, he will just.. score... Lmfao

Do you honestly think D'antoni's initial system to have Kobe be main ball handler and facilitator and have Nash play off ball the majority of the time.

D'antoni's vision was actually the other way around and we weren't having much success. Now Nash is playing off ball and Kobe is main facilitator.

That was NOT D'antoni"s system till recently.
