I don't know if I read it here, but I'd seen someone say that Doc should cover up the scoreboard next time

Doc Rivers in the locker room-

"Their starting five has still never beaten our starting five."

Classic of a sorry classic.

Oh, & i'm so glad this thread is back.  :cool2:

Funny thing was that the clippers were all acting they're the "big bro" during the game punking our players, getting into that "bad boys" thing going on. In the end, it was a good feeling they were humbled by our Lakers last night. I wouldn't mind losing if they show this kind of energy and effort every game.

When Xavier threw it down and smirked in CP3's face, you knew this was gonna be different.

Teams don't know how to prepare for a Lakers team that can RUN.

Doc said last night "We want to run we just don't want to let them run."

When's the last time another team worried about US running?

And some Lakers "fans" wanted to tank to get Wiggins before one game was ever played.

Tanking and getting wiggins would be the quickest and easiest way to get back to the top

He'd give you a budding superstar for less than 5 million a year. Like it or not that makes things 10 times easier

The only problem with tanking is that you are not guaranteed anything. If someone told me lose 50 games and it's guaranteed then I would do it. Either way too hard to tank with a that has Kobe on it

Getting the worst record guarantees you a top 4 pick in the best draft in a decade

You're almost guaranteed a Lebron, melo, or wade in the top 4

Now having said that, with Kobe playing at all we'd never get the worst record, but I'm just saying tanking makes things easier for a team like the lakers

Teams that are destination teams will be able to attract free agents, and to go with a young cheap budding superstar gives you an advantage

It's a moot point because Kobe will play, but the logic for tanking is there

If youre a team like the 76ers or pelicans it's useless because you'll never be a destination team so all it is is another losing season adding to the losing culture of the franchise

Even if you get picks 2, 3, or 4 it's never a guarantee. Look how many people get drafted early and don't end up accomplishing anything. There's a huge list.

Also not easy to get the worst record when like 5 other teams are going to be competing for it....

Tanking is not in the Lakers vocabulary. However, waiting for our East Coast affiliate (Orlando) to develop a franchise center is.
